Welcome back to Army Front, the column in which we dive into the achievements of this week’s standout army. This week, we sought to understand the dynamics within the Dark Vikings, a well-known – and quite controversial – Small/Medium army.
The Dark Vikings were founded in early 2020 by Krosive as a result of a rebranding of his former army Saber Squids. Nevertheless, its first generation would be short-lived and soon came to an end. It was only in October 2021 that he, Alucard, and Thunder222 formed a second generation. As well as its first, the army’s second iteration would once again not last long, despite all the merges and attempts to make the army successful.
With ups and downs filled with drama, the trio formed the third – and current – generation of DV in October 2022. This was the most successful generation of the army so far, with many achievements documented. Through the impressive efforts of the leadership, the Vikings attained Major Army status in March 2023, after winning February Forte. Moreover, DV also reached the top spot in the Top Ten rankings in the 10th week of 2023, a commendable feat for an S/M Army. The army also reached the March Madness VIII semifinals, although they were disqualified due to an inappropriate tactic.
Continuous instability persisted within the army, reaching its apex amid the Bloodbath Barrage War. The Sapphire Concordat, their adversaries, invoked a force treaty citing a breach of war terms. The opposing alliance asserted that the Vikings had once again resorted to inappropriate tactics and harassment of their members. These recurring issues led the Club Penguin Armies administration to make an official statement officially banning the Dark Vikings from every tournament.
After such a turbulent period, the Dark Vikings have been focusing on internal growth and development. That way, the Vikings would be able to clean their reputation within the community and give the army a fresh new start. Most recently, they have been achieving consistent sizes of 15+ per event. Moreover, they are also engaging in practice battles with the Special Weapons and Tactics, winning all of them so far. Because of DV’s outstanding work as an S/M army, Thunder222 was nominated legend in last year’s induction process.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to DV’s Commander Krosive to understand his perspectives on the current state of the army.
After all that turmoil of controversies DV had to face, how is the army experiencing its growth right now?
We always keep going down to the basics of recruiting and registering. Now we can do practice battles with our allies SWAT so we can actually have fun and battle as no one else wanted too.
How would you describe your experience in leading DV?
A lot of controversy but high growth and wins.
What are your plans and prospects for the future of DV?
Maxing 25+, by recruiting and registering, doing hard work, and having fun. I like to speak in vcs and interact with the community to build fun relationships andto make thunder annoyed. I dont care about getting legend as proven by the last years vote its all a group of bum buddies.
It seems that despite everything that the Dark Vikings had to face last year, they are ready to give the army a new face. We, at Club Penguin Armies, wish them the very best of luck in their endeavors and plans. Do you think we will see the Dark Vikings more active in the S/M community? Or do you think we will see them regaining their major status soon?
