With Valentine’s pass. There was quite a lot of activity! Fifteen armies make the cut, as well as an important foreword regarding rogue events.

Foreword from Dino:
This Top Ten was a very stressful one to handle, primarily due to stress with recounting both the Army of Club Penguin and the Templars of Club Penguin. Two experienced members of our Committee obviously produced recounts that may not be satisfactionary either to the recounted armies, or the general populace. I want to preface that those two Committee members did not fail us. If anything, we the heads failed them. I do read the Quality Checks and typically I am the one responsible for handling the response for them. Probably the biggest thing we get now (other than the eternal complaints about being “late,” which you can never satisfy those people), is the complaint about inconsistencies about how recounts done. I personally was pretty frustrated at a very specific event that claimed an enermous size and my peers also felt that way but with all the inconsistecies in our Department, this will just be grandfathered before the upcoming uniform public policy to avoid making things worse.
We strongly disagree with counting rogues outright without any recounts. This would set a horrible precedent. It should be noted using rogues and even 5-bar servers used to be considered a massive taboo in the community as far as the original era. Even as far as early CPPS, many people were suspicious of the costume events hosted by some armies to stretch their maximum size claims. I know some people believe it is finally time to get rid of that taboo, but it’d muddle the history books significantly and worsen this “rogue arms race” to game the Top Ten. Rogue recounts is the worst form of solution except for all those other solutions that have been tried.
I expect there will probably be a protest over some of the scores, and I’d like to apologize in advance if these are not the results some may like. However, we are going to be proactive to remedy this for good. I mentioned in my Quality Check answer that a Top Ten Regulations page will be coming out soon, and I’d like to announce we are essentially done with it except for expectations for the Committee Members and just clarifications about toxic tactics. We will spend the rest of the week talking with Advisors within the Organization for final input, and I will personally meet with Army Representatives to get their input on a best-possible outcome. We already have a general outline for what is and isn’t acceptable for rogue events, but I do want to at least use this opportunity to at least clear up any loopholes and questions. From there, we will determine how we’ll make this uniform amongst our Committee Members to avoid any future issues.
Without further ado, we’d like to introduce the Top Ten Armies of February 15th to February 21st!
