History of Mammoth

On February 19, the Army of Club Penguin declared a major invasion of Mammoth. Mammoth was, at the time of declaration, the capital of the Special Weapons and Tactics. This invasion was largely ceremonial due to the server’s legacy. Mammoth, as an original Club Penguin server, was the start for Oagalthorp, the creator of ACP, to grow the community. Many armies fought wars over this server due to ACP’s constant presence and domination on Mammoth. As per ACP’s declaration, one of the primary goals of World War VI, the war between the Black Alliance and White Alliance, was to kick ACP off the server directly.

With Ganger90‘s creation of SWAT in 2009, a new competitor emerged to take control of Mammoth. As they grew in their first generation, they eventually announced an official battle against ACP in January 2011. With a massive size of 55 to 65, ACP successfully defended the server, launching multiple invasions and raids against the two for years to come. The rivalry eventually led to SWAT joining the BA in their 2012-2013 war, along with further back-and-forth invasions. Since then, SWAT and ACP have always competed for Mammoth when on the same map.

Modern History And Mammoth Expedition

While specific servers no longer have the same importance, with fewer servers in Club Penguin Private Servers, the rivalry continued in part post-2017. The first war came in December 2020 when ACP declared on SWAT for SWAT’s allegations of trash-talking. ACP managed to win this war with a 7-0-0 (W-T-L) war score as the last war of the Flash Era. The next war occurred in May 2023, after AustinFraud and Coolguy earned promotions to lead alongside Calgo. The three of them chased SWAT off the Club Penguin Armies map at the time, leading to another victory over SWAT. However, due to SWAT’s struggles over the next couple of years, there was less conflict between the two armies.

However, in February 2026, CPA released a new map, resetting all former ownership. To induct this map, CPA held a draft to allocate servers. Unlike in the past, however, armies had to be strategic in their server selection to invade the most land. The required strategy stems from the new system, which requires invasions only against bordering nations, unless an army buys a ship or plane with coins. As a result, ACP drafted Snow Fort as its capital, which is in the center of the map, therefore allowing for more immediate invasions.

Battle Results

After ACP invaded Abominable, Kozciuszko, and White House, they declared their invasion of Mammoth, despite SWAT’s inactivity in recent weeks. ACP urged SWAT to gather veterans to defend the server in this battle. However, with ACP’s max of 49 against SWAT scrounging some troops and two visitors, ACP won the first two rooms single-handedly. The massive size advantage resulted in a wipeout for SWAT, and ACP left the battle in the third room. SWAT remained, allowing for a third room victory. Unfortunately for SWAT, the room victory was not enough to offset the losses in the other two rooms. As a result, ACP successfully invaded Mammoth.

On February 22, the day after the battle, SWAT leader William announced that the army would go on hiatus. As per the announcement, the godfathers decided to call it a hiatus, despite a full shutdown seeming imminent.

William’s announcement of the SWAT hiatus

Club Penguin Armies interviewed ACP leader Daniel and William for further information.

With the successful invasion of Mammoth, will ACP declare it the new capital?

Daniel: As odd as it sounds, no! We still deem Snow Fort more strategically placed. In the past, though, people have named co-capitals, so it is most likely we’ll do this symbolically.

Was there any other reason for invading Mammoth other than reclaiming the historical capital?

Daniel: Not really, we got a war, sure, but our plan was going to claim it regardless of who had it from the moment Snow Fort was decided. Mammoth means a lot to us and we couldn’t just let it stay in someone else’s hands.

Are there any more historical ACP-owned servers that you seek to invade?

Daniel: For now, not really.

How did SWAT approach ACP’s declaration?

William: First we discussed whether or not even to show up, we decided to. Then we hastily assembled a crack-team composed of troops, one visitor, and a former commander (whom is also a second visitor)

With the SWAT hiatus and the loss of Mammoth, do you think SWAT will try to regain it when it returns?

William: When we return, if ever, we will definitely want to reclaim Mammoth, it’s perhaps one of the oldest running conflicts in CPA history

Is there a plan for invading the map more frequently upon the return from the break?

William: Not really

ACP successfully reclaimed its legacy capital but has chosen to stick with the new capital to remain strategically located. With SWAT clearly still desiring Mammoth upon their return to CPA, the rivalry will likely never fizzle out. Will we see further conflict over Mammoth? How will this important server affect future army affairs?
