Managing the Community
Mare joined the Club Penguin Army community in 2020 through the Special Weapons and Tactics. While she wasn’t fully committed to SWAT from the outset, she earned a promotion to leader in the second half of 2020 through hard work. From 2021 onward, she led SWAT through many operations, including a victory against the Templars. After a year of service in SWAT, she stepped down from her leadership position. Along the way, she also racked up notable achievements in other armies, such as the Dua Inn Lipa Fighters. This catapulted her to S/M Army Legend in 2021.
Her journey didn’t end here, however, as she stuck around the community through Club Penguin Armies. Despite no longer being part of any army, she remained an active staff member at CPA from July 2022, serving as a moderator, reporter, Community Committee member, and YouTube member. Additionally, as of April 2023, she became Head Judge in Club Penguin Army Judges and Head Moderator in CPA, assuming more influential roles. She returned to her rise through CPA ranks in April 2024 as an Associate Producer. Within a couple of months, she was promoted to Editor-in-Chief. Then, in August, Mchappy, upon his retirement, promoted Mare to Chief Executive Producer to serve alongside Coolguy. In her time, she introduced multiple tournaments, alongside existing ones, such as Project Conquest: Blood Bowl and Candy Crusher Brawl. Additionally, she boosted the Community Committee’s role in community engagement and introduced various fun additions to the server map. After a fulfilling CPA career, Mare retired as Chief Executive Producer on April 29, 2025.
Advising the Next Generation
The generation of CPA execs post-Mare has succeeded tremendously, and this is in no small part due to the work of the advisors. Holding the role in any army holds enough scrutiny, but to hold it in an army league weighs much more. Any small change made by the executives could result in more in the future. Advisors to the army leagues are the glue between the present and future of the leagues, making it even more important that they remain vigilant about emerging issues. Currently, advisors in CPA include Orange, DMT, and Super.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Mare to learn more about her role and daily duties.
For those unaware of your Club Penguin Armies career, how did you reach your current position?
At the very beginning of CPA, I started as a moderator and eventually got promoted to Head Moderator. At the same time, I was also a judge and ended up becoming Head Judge LOL. While doing both, I stayed involved in other departments too in CPA. Later, I joined the reporting team, became an Editor, then EIC. Mchappy then offered me an admin role, which was a big shoe to fill because his administration was so great, so it was pretty scary at first. Fast forward almost a year later, I retired from CEP and became an advisor! I wanted to still help out and contribute as much as I could to help the current administration.
Do you have any future goals for your CPA career?
I don’t have certain goals, I am really just there to help support admins in anyway I can since now it’s their turn to steer the CPA ship and shape it in their own way:)
How was the transition from Chief Executive Producer to Advisor?
The transition went well, and while I was sad to retire from CEP, I feel confident in what I accomplished there. I believe it’s important for an administration to have a balanced length of time not too short, but not too long because regular leadership changes allow for fresh perspectives. New administrators bring innovative ideas, prevent stagnation, and help the league continue to grow and adapt.
What is the CPA organization’s current trajectory, and how are its ongoing plans shaping the community?
I think the CPA’s current trajectory has been focused on bringing new ideas to the table, including initiatives like recreating the map, which has the potential to be really impactful if it’s fully utilized. Ultimately, it falls on leadership to take those ideas and put them into action. From what I’ve seen, the admins are doing their best to encourage positive change while trying to adapt to a community that’s constantly evolving. The admins seem to be actively trying to keep up with that evolution and create systems that support growth and engagement.
Do you have any advice for current or future CPA staff who wish to be Chief Executive Producer?
My advice to anyone who wants to be CEP one day is to work hard and take the time to explore different departments to understand how the league truly functions. I learned so much during my time as an admin, and it showed me how different that role is from being a leader of an army. Leadership and administration require very different skill sets. As an admin, I learned that you can’t please everyone, so having patience, adaptability, and a balanced mindset is crucial. I’d also say that even if you’re not a skilled writer, there are many different ways and strengths that can lead to becoming a successful admin.
Mare’s impact on CPA has been immense, and as an Advisor, is still incomplete. Her dedication, which began with SWAT, then CPAJ, and even CPA, has shown no bounds and is certain to help our current administration, along with the other Advisors. With the latest tournaments, maps, and wars drawing more attention to the league, CPA’s trajectory is not yet on the decline. Do you have any questions for Mare? How do you think CPA will evolve as an organization into the future?
