Hello everyone, my name is Aaronstone. A few months ago, I wrote a post called “An Appeal to Heaven: How to Save the Army Community“. It was a well-received post, and thus, it encouraged me to write more opinion pieces. I had a few on the back burner, including one on my voting ballot in the latest Legends Committee. However, due to events that have taken place within the past 24 hours or so, I moved this to the forefront. So without further ado, let us begin.
Warning: This post contains light swear words. If you are sensitive to this kind of language, do not read this post, and do not waste your time complaining to me about it because I do not care.
Stop Draining The FUN Out Of War
The first step in fixing warfare in this community is to stop sucking the fun out of it. I am going to be using the recent Army of Club Penguin + Water Vikings vs. Aliens + Scarlet Republic war as my main example within this post. I am sure I can dig up a million more examples, but this is the most recent, so I am going to go with it.
One of the reasons why Aliens “dropped out” of the war was because Water Vikings had sent messages, set statuses, etc., saying “KILL ALIENS”. I am guilty of this, and I use that word very lightly because I do not apologize for it whatsoever. The main reason we did this was to drive hype for the battle and get people locked in so they feel a sense of purpose and have a feeling of wanting to defeat the enemy. Do people really consider these types of things a bad thing nowadays? Are you f***ing kidding me? Do you know the stuff we had to put up with and did back in the day? This is light stuff. Please stop the virtue signaling, it’s nothing personal, it’s just fun. I can’t tell you how many times Xing and I went to war during my leadership, did everything possible, said everything possible in order to get one up on each other, and guess what? It was FUN. It kept things interesting and kept people motivated. Please, for the love of all things holy, stop being a crybaby.
Stop Blowing Things Out Of Proportion
We’re going to talk about the Water Vikings declaration post here. Again, if you get upset at NSFW stuff, do not go looking for it. Anyway, that post was written by Cobra, and while yes, I can understand how people view it differently, it seriously is not that big of a deal. It is quite honestly pathetic how this was handled, and what should’ve happened was that the war should’ve continued. If the war had continued, it would have gotten even nastier, and our respective armies would have been even more locked in than they were already, which would have made the war a lot better. Which is something this community desperately needed.
Blowing this out of proportion and labelling Water Vikings as “disgusting” and unworthy of community participation and quitting the war is just sad, quite honestly. There have been so many times in this community where an army has done something that the community all collectively agreed was far worse than the most recent issue, and everyone banded together to beat the hell out of them. The community has now been robbed of what would’ve been a good conflict that probably would’ve spilled over into the new map. Amazing job.
Show Up To Wars That Get Declared
This is something that recently happened, and it has happened many times in the past. More recently, the Second War of Roman Subjugation. Please stop dodging wars. It is not what this community is about. We are ARMIES after all. Stop only fighting wars if it’s a sure win for your army. Just show up, participate, and take part in what it actually means to be an army. It must be pretty frustrating as an army leader to declare war and get everyone hyped up and ready to fight, just to see your opponent go “Nope, we are not showing up to any battles”. Do we collectively as a community not realize how dumb this all sounds? It’s not sticking it to your enemy; it’s not a strategic move, it’s just a plain, sad move. Have some sense of honor, sense of principle, sense of pride, and show up to fight. That is truly what I believe armies lack nowadays, pride in what you’ve either built or been handed by previous generations. There is no better place to prove your army’s strength and test what you’ve built than on the battlefield. Please stop no-showing war battles, even if they are not map wars.
Quit Virtue Signaling
Stop writing stupid posts trying to claim moral victory. Unless your opponent is a truly terrible person or army, and I mean truly terrible, like Waterkid or Prior Bumble terrible. There is no reason to write posts mid-war because you’re either losing or just tired or whatever, over something your opponent has said in their chats or a post on their website. There is seriously no reason to do that. Just FIGHT THE WAR. Use chat messages of your enemies to hype and encourage your staff and troops. This is quite literally how Water Vikings defeated ACP in Christmas Chaos XIII. We used what ACP was saying to motivate and hype our staff, and we beat them. This issue is something everyone suffers from. Because all it does is DRAIN everyone’s spirit, and nobody wants to fight the war anymore because they think it’s stupid. This is not real life; nobody is going to DIE because Jimmy882903 from Underground Mafias Army said a bad word that offends someone. Quit the virtue signaling, grow a pair, and fight to the last man. That’s how you handle beef, not spouting shit off in CPA’s main chat trying to gain the morality narrative.
Don’t Wait For A Reason To Declare War
This one is pretty self-explanatory. If you want to declare war, do it. You do not need a reason to declare war. See Xing or Logical, both of those guys declared war for very little reason other than to have a war. Wars are meant to be FUN. You don’t need a political or moral reason to do it. Just declare it, have fun, and let the beef flow naturally. Let your staff and troops gain experience so that they will be even better next time, and get your troops drawn into this community so they stay and help you fight in more wars and tournaments.
Conclusion
This community is having the life sucked out of it by so many stupid issues, and many of us, going back generations now, are responsible for it. Many people agree that this community is headed down the toilet, and we all recognize these issues, and yet we do little to nothing to fix them, or we shame those who try to fix them.
We talk about Golden Ages or how some armies and their people handle things “the OG way”. Quite frankly, when I see these things, as someone who was in OG armies for years and has been a part of many golden ages, I don’t know what the f*** you’re talking about. This community is a foreign community to the one of old. I might sound like Lord Pain here, but for all of Lord Pain’s faults and how many perceive him, he is completely right about one thing, and that is, wars in this community are not how they should be. They should be full of beef, not like the ‘go find them irl and kill them’ beef, but you know, competitive beef, which makes them fun and drives the army to success. Not whatever we have going on now.
The Army Community is not real life; none of this matters at all, and has zero implications on anything. Unless, of course, you run to your mother after you drop a post on someone and say, “Hey Mom, my Club Penguin Army (a game that died nine years ago) dropped a post on the Water Vikings today because one of their HCOM said a bad word that offended a person who joined yesterday!” This cannot continue in any fashion whatsoever. If you claim to care about warfare and you want wars, then these are the steps that you need to follow. Otherwise, 2026 is going to be another boring year without anything going on besides tournaments.
