Welcome to the forty-second edition of the Higher Command Life Stories column. This week, we are looking over the journey of Runa, a new HCOM for Help Force.

A helper through the years
Runa started her journey on June 28, 2021, when she joined Help Force. Little did she know, it would be only the beginning of her story as a Helper. After 273 days, on March 26, 2022, she achieved the rank of General in HF, the first of many on her staff journey. Her creativity, sustained efforts, kindness, and numerous other qualities led her to the rank of HCOM on December 13, 2025, under the fourth era of Help Force.

Runa’s announcement in HF on Dec 4, 2025
If you ask anyone how to describe Runa, the most recurrent quality mentioned by allies, staff, and troops. Her positive attitude and her friendliness make her a loved member of her community. She goes beyond and above for all the Helpers and her friends: she brings fresh ideas, motivates her people, and is there for everyone when needed. She is a person that everyone enjoys talking to when she comes into chat, that is in her own server or even allies’ ones.
INTERVIEW
Club Penguin Armies had the chance to interview Runa to know a bit more about her journey in Help Force.
When you joined HF in 2021, did you ever imagine becoming HCOM?
Looking back on it, I don’t think I ever saw it as possible for me. I didn’t expect to join junior staff ranks, especially staff ranks at all, so getting to where I am now is astonishing, still insane to wrap my head around it lol
Looking back on your army journey, are there any regrets/wishes that you have?
Regrets, I’d say not taking that leap of faith during my first period in 2021. I wish I had explored the CPA community more and taken a longer time to meet some new faces.
What is your favourite moment in HF?
When I think of HF, several moments come to mind, but if I had to settle on one, I’d say when I became a part of the junior staff team. It was the stepping stone to everything that I’ve achieved so far, including meeting a couple of my best friends along the way
Has anyone in particular inspired you to keep going in the army for so long?
That’s a tough question, as I wouldn’t say specifically just one person. I’d say, my friends, current and past, staff team, and the numerous leaders over the years, have inspired me to keep going on my journey
What is the best part about being HCOM?
Planning, scheduling, helping out, and having an outlet to be creative outside my studies are what I enjoy the most
Any advice would you give anyone who is attempting to achieve HCOM in their own army?
HCOM is a ton of responsibility, which isn’t something you rush into; it can be overwhelming, and most importantly, a lot of pressure. Keep your number one priority yourself; do what makes you comfortable and aim for it once you’ve reached that level of comfort. You’re your biggest supporter, so if you believe you can, anything is possible ♡
What hopes do you have for your future in HF?
I’d hope to be the best I can, overcome the obstacles holding me back, and maybe become a familiar face for old and new comers
Do you have any big plans for your future in HF?
Nothing I’m set on just yet, I’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for me 😀
Runa has shown determination and loyalty to her army since 2021. Her hard work made her climb the ranks, and it would be easy to say that she has a lot of love towards her army and that she enjoys her new position. What do you think the future holds for Runa and HF? Who would you like to be interviewed next by CPA for this column?
