rich history
Cookky2 and Edu14463 officially founded the Elite Guardians in October 2017, originally with the goal of creating a Portuguese-speaking Nachos colony. Despite armies based in Brazilian time zones not being very popular at the time, Edu and Cookky were set on making their idea work.
When Disney’s Club Penguin shut down, the army community was hit with massive inactivity. Still, the Guardians pushed through by hosting events across different Club Penguin Private Servers (CPPS). Their very first event reached a maximum of 10 penguins, which was modest but promising. Thanks to strong leadership and aggressive recruiting, the army quickly grew to over 30 penguins, establishing itself as a serious contender. These early efforts laid the groundwork for what would become the Elite Guardians’ first golden age.

One of EGCP’s first events
The Elite Guardians are no strangers to war, having taken part in numerous conflicts over the years. As members of the New Viking Alliance, the Guardians fought against the Underground Mafias Army in 2018. Around the same time, EGCP developed a long-standing rivalry with the Templars, facing them in multiple wars.
Their campaigns didn’t stop there. In 2018, the Guardians reached the semi-finals of the Legends Cup, where they faced the Rebel Penguin Federation. During that battle, EGCP hit a maximum size of 60+. Although they narrowly lost the tournament, the match sparked ongoing tension with the Rebels. This eventually led EGCP to participate in World War VII against RPF.
Fighting as part of the Red Dawn Alliance, alongside armies such as the Templars and the Pizza Federation, the coalition was able to consistently reach sizes of 50+, cementing the Guardians’ place as a serious force in the army community.

RECENT HIATUS
On January 6th, EGCP leader Lana announced that the army is officially going into hiatus. In her announcement, she stated that they will be leaving the army community and focusing on other CPPS. Additionally, all allies of EGCP are now in neutral status.
More information about the hiatus has not yet been announced by the leadership. That said, Club Penguin Armies reached out to EGCP leader Lana for more on this topic.
What led you to the decision to place EGCP on hiatus?
All leaders are adults, college students and have a job. It’s a little difficult keep the online routine completely stable when you have such a busy schedule. Since reopening, several moments have been discouraging us a bit. But we always stay united despite everything. With that, we concluded that we all needed a break, to prioritize our fun.
How do you plan to keep the community connected or engaged during this break?
We are planning events and internal tournaments at other CPPS, like CPJ… we want some fun before returning to CPA.
What qualities or changes would you like to see in EGCP when it eventually reopens?
We want a more united team that prioritizes fun. I don’t like the idea of seeing CPA as an obligation, and I’m not the only one with this view. CPA is a community to escape reality and have fun, not to stress ourselves out and create internal wounds.
It’s clear the Guardians know what’s best for them and their army. We can only hope they achieve those goals and perhaps make a legendary return like they always do. What are your thoughts on the hiatus? Do you think EGCP will come back thriving once again?
