Community Reacts: Christmas Chaos XV Quarter Finals

This week, we witnessed the Quarter Finals round of the Christmas Chaos tournament unfold. To gain a deeper insight into the battles that occurred during Christmas Chaos XV from the community, we decided to ask some community members to share their opinions on the battles that took place.

Introduction

Christmas Chaos is the yearly festive tournament in the army community, and with this being the 15th iteration, the tournament remains compelling. In this mixed division tournament, Small/Medium armies face off with Majors, while two Majors fight each other. Christmas Chaos allows for potential Army Legend candidates to cement themselves, as it caps off the year’s events. Last weekend, eight armies fought for a place in the semi-finals!

Club Penguin Armies has reached out to several community members for their reactions to the numerous battles that have occurred.

ALIENS VS. TEMPLARS OF CLUB PENGUIN

Aliens, as noted by the judges, dominated all three rooms, having a clear size advantage over the Templars. Despite the Templars’ surprising new maxes, they were slower and disorganised, leading to their downfall. Missed defensive positions and delayed reactions allowed the Aliens to control and dominate each room, resulting in a 3-0. Aliens were shown to be strong in their formations and tactical completion.

TCP vs. Aliens

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: Good battle and good efforts from TCP. Once more, I guess the community expected Aliens to win and bring large sizes

Jo, Help Force Leader: Went as expected. Aliens are one of the biggest major armies, so TCP stood no chance. TCP did max more than I expected, though

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: i didnt actually see this battle, but I appreciate tcp for putting forth their best efforts for this battle and gg to aliens!

Mabel, Water Vikings HCOV: Aliens has been kicking actual ass recently with their sizes so I wasn’t too surprised about the results for this battle. The Templars have been struggling from an outside point with many things external and internal, with leadership, size, etc. But I was definitely expecting a good chunk of their (TCP) veterans to show up. But overall, both armies have their ups and downs; just the results overall were not too surprising considering recent events.

SnowyPlayer, Army of Club Penguin HCOM: 3-0, just like I expected.

TheYeeter, Scarlet Republic Staff: actually, not even close tbh as i know that Aliens is gonna cook with their size, TCP couldn’t hold them up even with support.

Moon, Judge: In all honesty, I think both sides did amazing. TCP and Aliens both had their pros and cons, but I think Aliens overall had fewer cons. Although at some points throughout the battle, I was scratching my head at the Aliens’ forms. They’re creative, sure, but it’s hard to tell sometimes. I think TCP were on their A game as well. Even while covered, they still pulled through.

WATER VIKINGS VS. HELP FORCE

The second battle was between the Water Vikings and Help Force. The result was somewhat shocking for some, while quite obvious to others. Though WV dominated the field, HF put up a brilliant fight in the second room. It was quite the battle to be worth watching while eating popcorn.

WV VS HF

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: Went according to the community predictions, WV had superior size and dominated with their experience in the battlefield

Jo, Help Force Leader: Battle was definitely rigged. Judges must’ve been hungry for gingerbread

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: I thought the battle would be a bit closer, but both sides performed well regardless! very fun battle

Mabel, Water Vikings HCOV: I might just be hypocritical for this one, considering I’m a Water Viking veteran and former leader for the Vikings, but knowing our past with Help Force, I was not too surprised at the results, but was ultimately expecting a tie for one of the rooms if anything.

SnowyPlayer, Army of Club Penguin HCOM: I didn’t expect this to be a sweep because HF usually performs well at tournaments

TheYeeter, Scarlet Republic Staff: Honestly, WV cooked their performance. Thats all

Army of Club Penguin VS. Dark Warriors

Although Dark Warriors had won with a dominating 3-0 against the Special Weapons and Tactics, they were no match against the Army of Club Penguins’ years of experience and tactical agility. Due to the decisive nature of ACPs’ victory, the community’s reaction was predictable.

ACP VS DW

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: Sizes weren’t that different, but the battle could’ve been way closer if sizes were equal. ACP’s strategy was what led them to victory. Nice formations and movements. Good efforts from DW

Jo, Help Force Leader: Similar to the Aliens and TCP battle. Dark Warriors vs TCP and Aliens vs ACP would’ve been more interesting since sizes would’ve been much closer

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: i thought this battle would be significantly more closer, but acp showed out and got a victory!

Mabel, Water Vikings HCOV: My original predictions for this battle was going to be ACP 100%. This is no offense to Dark Warriors or any of their troops/staff, but the size comparison of normal Dark Warrior events to ACP is quite literally not comparable. ACP also having a higher veteran size contributes a lot.

SnowyPlayer, Army of Club Penguin HCOM: I honestly expected ACP to win either 3-0-0 or 2-1-0, with DW maxing more than they maxed in the battle

Yeeter, Scarlet Republic Staff: This battle is the only one that surprised me and made me stay up all night lmao. Cuz DW put a good fight towards em with their 20+ size and honestly, this battle cooked unlike the other battles. Nevertheless, ACP won and i hope they continue doing that win 🙏🙏🙏

Rebel Penguin Federation VS. ROMANS

Rebel Penguin Federation had faced off with the Romans, with a gargantuan size advantage, so it was no surprise that RPF dominated all three rooms. However, the community applauds the latter as they were brave enough to fight against their opponents.

RPF VS Romans

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: I expected Romans to bring in a larger force, but I guess all of us expected RPF to win this one, especially as Romans are a growing S/M.

Jo, Help Force Leader: I’m shocked that RPF won. Sure, Romans aren’t PIC, but I expected them to at least strongly contend with RPF. A 3-0 win for RPF was wild. Personally, it should’ve gone to overtime

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: ROMANS VICTORY

Mabel, Water Vikings HCOV: Same goes with what I said for ACP, the Rebels have one of the biggest veteran representations in the army community, and we all have to admit that. 66 RPF troops compared to only 8 Romans in Room 1 😬… this was going to be an obvious result from the start of how this would play off unless the Romans got another 40 online to at least cover even half of RPF.

SnowyPlayer, Army of Club Penguin HCOM: RPF has all the advantage crushing Romans, so it’s obvious they won 😭

TheYeeter, Scarlet Republic Staff: Expected, though I thought the Romans would max more

The community anxiously awaits the victor of the Semi-Finals this week. With the Quarter-Finals finished, many seem to be quite tame with the results, and hopefully, the battles will pick up in magnitude as the tournament continues. What did you think of the Quarter-Finals? What are your hopes for the Semi-Finals? Who do you think will take home the trophy?
