Christmas Chaos is a yearly tournament in the army community, hosted during the festive season. This past weekend, the qualifier round took place, with armies such as the Templars and Shadow Legionnaires battling in the Gingerbread section to move to the quarter-finals, with the Templars advancing to the next round. In the Eggnog section, the Dark Warriors fought against the Special Weapons and Tactics, with the Dark Warriors securing the win. Another battle between the Romans and the People’s Imperial Confederation was supposed to take place; however, due to the shutdown of PIC, the Romans were able to advance to the next round.

This year’s quarterfinals see a plethora of familiar faces battle it out. Such armies include the Help Force and Water Vikings, making another appearance against each other, with the Aliens facing the Templars again. This year also sees many older armies that have made a return this year face off, such as the Dark Warriors and Romans. With a grand selection of interesting battles, we took to the community to find out their thoughts on who would emerge victorious.

CCXV Quarter-Finals brackets

Club Penguin Armies reached out to various members of the army community to hear their predictions for how the Gingerbread bracket will play out this weekend.

ALIENS VS. TEMPLARS OF CLUB PENGUIN

The Aliens and the Templars faced each other off in last year’s Christmas Chaos, ironically, also in the quarterfinals section of the tournament. The Aliens, as noted by the judges, had a huge size advantage over the Templars in last year’s battle. With such a large advantage in size, the Aliens secured two rooms, moving on to the semifinals round of Christmas Chaos XIV. Moving on to this year, both armies have had multiple changes in their path, with the Templars having multiple leadership and internal affairs changes through the last few months, whilst the Aliens, more recently, have been having their own practice battles to keep their army afloat for this holiday season tournament.

Aliens vs. Templars in CCXIV

Alucard, Teutons Advisor: I could see Templars giving the Aliens a bit of a challenge but overall I think Aliens will win with a 3-0-0 sweep.

Izzy, EGCP Advisor: 2-1-0 Aliens

Raven, WV Advisor: Aliens 3-0-0, they are in a much better state rn, not only size wise but also competency wise. Aliens have been top 3 in the past few tournaments and while their maxes are slightly lower nowdays, it is still at least double of what templars have.

Rye, WV HCOM: Aliens 3-0-0. Aliens are very strong in their formations and tactic completion. This will give them an advantage since I think Templars lack in both of those departments, along with the recent drama that could potentially cut their size. I can see Aliens dominating this battle.

WATER VIKINGS VS. HELP FORCE

The Water Vikings and the Help Force last faced each other off in 2023’s Christmas Chaos XIII Quarterfinals, whilst facing each other off more recently in practice battles against each other, this will be both armies’ first time facing each other in a Christmas Chaos battle in the last 2 years. From the Christmas Chaos XIII results, the Water Vikings won the battle with a score of 3-0-0; the main problems at that time for the Helpers were their slow performance and poor formations.

In the past 2 years, both armies have faced each other in March Madness IX and formed many practice battles with each other, including a more recent 3-way battle with the Void Troops in June this year. Since the last Christmas Chaos battle between the two armies, it is very noticeable that a lot has changed for the two in terms of leadership, formations, and tactics, and the community may be curious to see what the results are in place for this year.

Water Vikings vs. Help Force in CCXIII

Xing, TCP Advisor: 2-1-1 WV OT

Shallissa, PIC First Secretary: I think Water Vikings will win 2-0-1. WV has been killing it on the top ten lately, consistently placing above Help Force. Both armies are fierce in tournaments and have a decently sized pool of veterans. I know HF has the potential to put up a really strong fight, however I think WV’s performance during tournaments has been more consistent in recent years. Their armies are really skilled and fun to watch so regardless of who wins it will definitely be an exciting battle.

Scars, Teutons Leader: I think this battle will probably be close, but will end with a WV win. Both have been doing very good in tournaments over the last year or so, but recently WV has been doing way better. WV WINS 2-1-0

Sanya, ACP Veteran: 2-1-0 WV win. Based on recent activations I’ve been seeing and their top ten performance, I feel WV may win this round, but it all comes down to the battle as there’s many unknowns that are ahead and as we all know, despite the strengths WV has been showing lately. HF is one army you wouldn’t want to underestimate in a tournament as they’re known for being able to pull major upsets

The Gingerbread Bracket for this year’s CCXV quarterfinals seems to be very promising, and may have many waiting to see how these battles will take place, as they may or may not repeat previous scores from before. Who do you think will win, and do you agree with these predictions? Who do you think will emerge victorious?
