This week, we witnessed the Qualifying round of the Christmas Chaos tournament unfold. To gain a deeper insight into the battles that occurred during Christmas Chaos XV from the community, we decided to ask some community members to share their opinions on the battles that took place.

Introduction

Christmas Chaos is the yearly festive tournament in the army community, and with this being the 15th iteration, the tournament remains compelling. In this mixed division tournament, Small/Medium armies face off with Majors alike to see who will be crowned the victor. Christmas Chaos is always an excellent chance for potential Army Legend candidates to cement themselves, as it caps off the year’s events. Last weekend, six armies fought for a place in the quarterfinals last weekend.

Club Penguin Armies has reached out to several community members for their reactions upon viewing the battles.

SHADOW LEGIONNAIRES VS. TEMPLARS

The first battle was between the Shadow Legionaries and the Templars. The result was somewhat shocking for some, while quite obvious to others, with a win for TCP. However, SL put up a brilliant fight, and it was a battle worth watching.

SL vs. TCP in the Qualifiers

Kath, Water Vikings Leader: I was hoping that SL would have won, I was really surprised about the sweep!

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: TCP has years of tournament experience compared to SL. Thus, even though sizes were close, TCP’s performance played out as a deciding factor.

Jo, Help Force Leader: This battle went mostly as expected. I expected Templars to max a little higher, but other than that there were no surprises.

Aaronstone, Army Legend: I was hoping SL would’ve won, especially since Thunder messaged me pictures of SL beating Templars, but I wasn’t surprised that TCP ended up winning the battle anyway.

Bilxzo, Judge: I didn’t see the battle, but from what I’ve seen, SL is worse than TCP.

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: I think this could’ve definitely been more interesting. I think SL put up a great effort, especially for being an army that just formed, and for that, I hold a lot of respect. I was expecting this battle to be a TCP win, but I was pleasantly surprised by the effort SL put in

PEOPLE’S IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION VS. ROMANS

Due to the shutdown of the People’s Imperial Confederation, the Romans advanced to the next round.

Kath, Water Vikings Leader: I was hoping that SL would have won, I was really surprised about the sweep!

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: PIC x Romans wasn’t an official CCXV battle,  quite a shame.

Jo, Help Force Leader: It’s a shame that PIC shut down, but at least RPF has a chance of winning now. If it were PIC in the quarter finals, RPF’s chances of winning would be gone.

Aaronstone, Army Legend: I expected PIC to win, but they shut down, so Romans advanced, but if they stayed open, they would’ve won probably

Bilxzo, Judge: Totally fair

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: FLY HIGH PIC in all honesty, I thought this battle was going to be quite close had it not been for the unfortunate event we’ll never know tho, that pb was cool asf

DARK WARRIORS VS. SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS

Dark Warriors won fashionably with a dominating 3-0, with a significantly higher max, better tactics, and faster pace. Shockingly, the Special Weapons and Tactics appeared to only have 2 people, and despite this, they had poor completion and speed. Due to the decisive nature of DW’s victory, the community’s reaction was predictable.

Kath, Water Vikings Leader: I expected DW to win, and I was right, not really surprised for that one!

Edu14463, Chief Executive Producer: As for DW, who 3-0d SWAT, the huge size advantage and experienced leadership were the keys to victory. SWAT’s max 2 didn’t help much

Jo, Help Force Leader: Although I thought Dark Warriors would win, I didn’t expect them to max this much. The quarter finals between them and ACP should at least be interesting, although ACP is almost certainly going to win.

Aaronstone, Army Legend: SWAT is a husk where dreams go to die, so yeah, I expected DW to win.

Bilxzo, Judge: This was a pretty obvious result coming from the basis of SWAT’s minimal attendance

Kira, Editor-in-Chief: The winner of this battle was obvious from the beginning. I admire SWAT for trying to put up a fight, but I expected a DW clean sweep and nothing less

Certainly, people are anxious and curious about who will be advancing in the Christmas Chaos Quarter Finals this week. With the Qualifiers finished, many seem displeased with the results, and hopefully, the battles will pick up in magnitude as the tournament continues. What did you think of the Qualifiers? What are your hopes for the Quarter Finals? Who do you think will take home the trophy?
