An alliance between two prominent Small/Medium armies has met its end. The Templars announced that they are cutting ties with the Romans. In this article, we aim to investigate this matter.

In the evening of November 5, the Templars announced that the army was officially terminating its alliance with the Romans. Both armies have been allied since June 8. Thus, such a rupture comes as a surprise to some community members. Recently, both armies fought against each other in a practice battle in September, which ended in an interesting tie.

Why ‘now-former allies’, one might ask? The Grand Prior of TCP, Zez, announced that the army would be parting ways with the Romans. Even though the announcement was very straightforward, it was possible to retrieve some context from the army’s main chat, with Borapenguins stating that, in addition to neither army promptly assisting each other in events, there was some ‘tension’ between both armies’ troops.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Zez and Romans leader Znation in order to investigate the circumstances of the rupture.
Zez, TCP Leader: Templars has ended their alliance due to various reasons, however the main reason was it itself being completely useless, none of us were attending each others events, the alliance grew stale after the leaders who revived romans retired. So no, the alliance will not be re-established anytime soon.
Znation, Romans Leader: It happened because tcp and Romans didnt really help each other and tcp decided to end the alliance from their side, and I have no plans for re establishing the alliance anytime soon
From the answers above, it is safe to conclude that both armies realize their failure in assisting each other in events, a practice usually upheld by allied armies. However, Borapenguins’ statement leaves some room for speculation that there might be some extra ulterior reasons that led to this rupture.
