On August 19, one of Club Penguin Armies most promising prospects officially shut down. Let us explore the overall history of the Blizzard Battalion and what tragically led to their closure.

Recently, several armies have opened up and entered the community. At the height of the current golden age within Club Penguin Armies, it is a greater time than ever to try and make your mark. This is why the Blizzard Battalion and their re-entry into the league on August 2 were highly anticipated. As an army that has a little bit of history, a golden age within CPA could have been the perfect setting for them to skyrocket to the top. Unfortunately, though, some unforeseen problems have caused the leaders to step back from the community, forcing them to close the Battalion’s doors.

Blizzard Battalion’s reopening on August 2
Beginning their journey in December 2023, the army founder, Bilxo, had put together a ‘prototype army’ as a rebellious act against the mistreatment he had been facing within his army at the time. Despite efforts from Bilxo, the same army leaders he resented shut down this initial prototype. With no other option, Bilxo would be forced to temporarily abandon the project, where it would lie dormant until July 2024. When that month of July hit, the BB project was given another chance. Looking to give things another shot, Bilxo met with fellow friend, Reyzel, to discuss a new potential army. After some discussions between the two, Blizzard Battalion was finally open to the public. After a successful launch event of 20 troops and a pact between several armies, the BB leaders were proud of what they had accomplished.
Going further, that same generation would even find themselves in a war with the Scars of CP. The end of the war marked the moment the Battalion earned real recognition. After ending the war in a tie versus the hyped-up Scars, BB had shown they were not just some other army. They had real goals within their community, and were doing everything it takes to grow it. Sadly, however, this passionate era of the Battalion would soon end in controversy. This would not be the last of the Blizzards, though, as they would later revive that same year in October. In this new phase of BB, the army would see new leaders in Nick and Siryalt while maintaining an average of 13 at events. Unluckily, this re-opening success had died out, leading them to close the army that year. Even after shutting down again, they still held onto hope.

Following these past troubles, it would be easy to give up. A lot of people, after a hard failure, tend to just move on to new ambitions. This way of thinking would not apply to the leaders of the Battalion, however. Now on a path to prove something, the leaders of BB would meet again for a third generation. This time, they would do things right. They would plan everything and never leave room for any chaos or controversies that would destroy them. The Blizzard Battalion was approaching its first anniversary, and they had to be around for it. Desperately eager to get BB back up and running, the leaders discussed a third reopening only 4 days before the anniversary. Needless to say, the talks were successful, and the Battalion would later come to host their opening event on August 2.
Not all things were meant to be, though. Sometimes, life rearranges your priorities, preventing you from pursuing the goals you set out to achieve. Life had its plans, and the Blizzard Battalion leaders unfortunately found themselves caught in them. At first, the leaders put the army on a hiatus with promises to return. Some internal meetings had taken place after that, however, and the resulting news was terrible. 3 days later, CrazyFlame would instead announce the shutdown of the army, noting those discussions that led to the decision. While there is no hint towards a possible future for BB, resilience has always been a key element for them, and if history has shown anything, it’s that the Blizzard Battalion will always be back.

CrazyFlame’s announcement of Blizzard Batallion’s shutdown
It is sad to see such a highly ambitious force leave the community. Not everything worked out for the army in the end, but sometimes that’s just how it goes. The Blizzard Battalion stands as a great example for any leader on why not giving up is important. Any setback can be pushed through, and any challenge can be conquered. If there is anything to take away from the Blizzard Battalion and their story, it’s that perseverance will always prevail. Do you have any advice for the BB leaders as they enter their new chapters of life? Will Blizzard Battalion reopen a fourth time? Could they have done anything differently to prevent a shutdown?
