On July 23, the Shadow Legionnaires and Portal Hoppers fought in a two-room practice battle. Both armies demonstrated their capabilities, but there can only be a sole winner. Let us see how the battle unfolded.

OVERVIEW
The Shadow Legionnaires and Portal Hoppers are both recently formed armies, with both looking to sharpen their performance on the battlefield. While the Shadow Legionnaires participated in the Legends Cup XV tournament, they failed to show up for the qualifiers battle, resulting in an automatic loss. On the other hand, while the Portal Hoppers didn’t participate in the tournament, they had recently undergone some leadership changes.
ROOM 1 – PET SHOP
The room began with the Legionnaires entering first. SL formed a UT while the Hoppers continued to bomb. Although there were gaps in SL’s form, the sizes were 7-6 in their favor. SL covered decently, but both armies were slow with tactics. SL bombed early, with little effect, and then made a V form, while both armies were temporarily inactive. PHCP waterfalled, but it was not quite effective. SL defended, then they raked, subsequently getting into an UV while PHCP did an X formation. As PHCP was inactive most of the time, and SL was the more active army, SL wins R1.

ROOM 2 – GIFT SHOP
The room began with SL once again entering the room first, with the Hoppers coming shortly after. SL made a V, and PHCP formed a plus. While PHCP was quite dead, SL bombed, which was effective. SL moved into an L form, and PHCP was in a vertical, proceeding to rake afterwards. SL defended well, and they created a V, with sizes being 9-9. PHCP then created a gappy UV form. Both armies were slow, but SL did a very effective rake. PHCP moved into a UV, with sizes being 11-8 in PHCP’s favor. SL formed a backslash, while PHCP was in a scattered formation. Due to PHCP’s formation being hard to decipher, and SL being faster and generally dominating PHCP, the Legionnaires win room 2.

Despite the size disadvantage towards the end, the Shadow Legionnaires ultimately won the battle due to their cleaner formations and more effective movements.
