On July 20, an unexpected turn of leadership was announced within the Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin. Zay, who had previously served PHCP as one of the founding leaders, was officially removed from their higher command. With Sua now stepping into the role, let’s examine the entire situation further.

The Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin are a fairly new army to the community. Although only founded last month, they have managed to make major strides as an army. During the Top Ten week of June 29th to July 5th, the army was first placed at the eighteenth spot. Ever since then, they have shown incredible growth. Following the next Top Ten listing, the army skyrocketed to the ninth spot. During that time, PHCP had various invasions and events that were successful, contributing to its growth. Continuing with this momentum, PHCP still shows they have room for more. As of the most recent Top Ten, the Portal Hoppers moved up one rank, holding the eighth position.

Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin opening event
A firm leadership trio guided the army throughout its series of growth. Initially, it was the founding members, Dbsa and Zay, leading the army. Shortly after the opening, the duo added Judy to the team. This trio combination proved very successful for the army, lifting the Portal Hoppers to the highly coveted Top Ten ranks. Unfortunately, however, all good things must come to an end. After some internal shifts, PHCP currently finds itself under a new trio of leaders. A position was open after the founding leader, Zay, was removed after some personal circumstances that required them to step back from the community. In their place is Sua, a highly respected friend among Dbsa and Judy. Sua has been working with the two for some time now, so this leader trio will surely have chemistry. Making everything official, Judy then announced the news and briefly explained the situation.
Attempting to learn more about the drastic changes, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Sua with an exclusive interview.
Firstly, what is your army experience in the community?
I joined CPA way back in November 2020, back when Monstah and I were two kids trying to promote their own club penguin communities. I enlisted in Secret Service before the official launch of gen 1 iirc, and from there I stayed loyal to SS for the next 4 years, whenever it’d shut down, I’d retire. I stayed as SS staff and then later HCOM throughout all the gens, I was offered to lead the AUSIA division of Silver Empire by Dman64w but I never joined. All that came to an end however in November 2024 when I was asked my by closest friends to join them in reviving DCP, where I stayed as a 2ic for the next few months and then I retired shortly before it’s downfall, to focus on my studies and to be able to give time to my music and my concerts <33
How close are you to the founders of PHCP?
I haven’t had too many interactions with zay, but I met Judy (lawless) and dbsa back in SS gen 4, I mentored dbsa back when he was a troop and from there we’ve all gotten quite close over this year 😀 judy’s scary please save me
Do you believe the Portal Hoppers can become a Major army? Are there any current plans in place to achieve Major status?
I fully believe PHCP can become a major army, our staff and HCOM are very dedicated and trained people, and our max’s only getting higher. And yes, we’ve got plans :3
Lastly, what are your goals for PHCP specifically?
Getting it to major
All in all, Zay was a key factor in the Portal Hoppers of Club Penguin’s opening success. After an amazing climb on the Top Ten leaderboards, Zay has proven they have true leadership capabilities. As Zay closes their chapter with PHCP, they go down as an army legend with the army’s title of Echo Whisper. With a lot of momentum under the army already, the Portal Hoppers’ new leader trio with Sua may provide a new spark that will carry the army even further than before. What advice do you have for Sua in his new leadership position? Do you think Zay will ever return to the community? Will this new leadership trio be more effective than the last?
