The Dark Warriors were first founded on October 16, 2007, by Ambrosha and Elite 910. Throughout the army’s history, they experienced a gradual rise, notably winning Christmas Chaos II. Their most successful year came in 2014, during which they secured victories in both Champions Cup III and Christmas Chaos IV. Following the shutdown of Club Penguin in 2017, the army transitioned into the Night Warriors; however, due to a rebellion known as the Night Rebels, both the website and the name of the army were left tarnished.

The army once again reached its peak at the end of 2019. During 2020, the Dark Warriors achieved remarkable success, reaching sizes of over 135 and securing high placements on the inaugural unified Top Ten Armies ranking. However, as the year progressed, the army gradually declined, ultimately leading to its shutdown in late 2020.

Following a period of dormancy, the Dark Warriors were granted permission to revive on May 23 by creator Ambrosha. After a vote, the army officially returned on July 5, maxing 41 at their revival event. Before this, the Mercenaries and the Valiant Azure Knights had merged into DW, strengthening their foundation. With leaders Holo2, Subzero, and Coolguy at the helm, the army is truly emphasizing new beginnings.
