Overview
Both the Army of Club Penguin and the Aliens are participating in the ongoing Around the World Cup II tournament, working on their strategies separately. ACP in Group A, and the Aliens in Group B. This practice battle allowed both armies to develop their tactics and improve their coordination before the Grand Finals.
Room 1 – Aliens
Room 1 started with ACP entering first, but after a suspected snipe, they formed a V while the Aliens went for a circle. The Aliens had a slight size lead of 27-24 but appeared sluggish. ACP also had a few AFKs. After ACP moved into waterfall and Aliens went rake, ACP turned into a loose H and then U. The Aliens held the center with an X. ACP defended but continued to have some gappy forms. Both sides dwindled to 25-21, with the Aliens having a slight size advantage. The pace of ACP’s tactic had slowed, bombing after four minutes, whereas Aliens played steadily. ACP attempted a circle but did not have the numbers to get it executed, leaving some gaps. Ultimately, Aliens played cleaner than ACP, winning Round 1.

Room 2 – Aliens
Room 2 kicked off. ACP got in first and created a backward L shape, while the Aliens were late in their formation because they delayed with a bomb, which was fit to go for 50 seconds, before they settled into the V formation. The Aliens and the ACP threw bombs back and forth. The Aliens formed an X but then quickly followed this up with a sideways T formation, all while maintaining a lead with a size of 24-19. ACP countered with a UT formation but started losing size and integrity as it formed in gaps.
As action continued, ACP defended strongly against the Aliens’ bomb, but could not preserve the bunching when forming in plus. Aliens continued to have more projection in what they built and covered on track. Sizes still favored the AlienS, with a count of 24-20. Aliens also got size coverage by an undercover strategy via a waterfall while ACP continued to respond with a bomb and UV formation. Despite some good defensive plays from ACP, the Aliens demonstrated more creativity and relatively clean formations enough to win Room 2.

Room 3 – TIE
During Room 3, ACP entered first, followed by the Aliens. The armies began ACP at an angle, and the Aliens in a triangle. One Alien troop was out of formation early. You could see the skill of ACP as they remained disciplined. They made a bomb first, and the Aliens parried it, but made a bomb of their own. The Aliens then formed an X, and ACP changed into a triangle. However, part of the ACP formation, in particular the right side of the formation, was a little weak as they stopped forward motion to discuss tactics.
The action continued with a bomb by both troops, which ACP followed with a V, and the Aliens with a downward arrow. Sizes did not change and remained at 24-20 (Aliens lead). The Aliens were noted in the team aversive column for having a chat bar that was a tad messy. In the end, both armies delivered similar quality in tactical execution and quality of shape. Thus, the judges deemed Room 3 a tie.

The Army of Club Penguin and the Aliens battle at the Snow Forts
Overall, the practice battle between the Army of Club Penguin and the Aliens was well-fought and entertaining. The Aliens had the advantage in the first two rooms due to their cleaner formations and creativity in Tactical, while the ACP still held their own, competing at pace in the third room, which ended up being a tie. Both armies are active in the ongoing Around the World Cup II, but they are in separate groups, so this practice offered beneficial preparation and analysis time before being involved in harder challenges ahead. Will these armies take the lessons and knowledge from this practice battle into their official matches? How do you see their performance playing out in the current tournament?
