The Exploration Phase

Superhero123 is an army veteran who has played a major role in the army community. He joined the community in 2013. The first army he joined was the Hot Sauce Army, which he left after just one event. He joined other armies such as the Golden Troops, Watex Warriors, United Troops, and Shadow Troops. Despite joining many armies, he did not achieve any substantial success in his career until he joined the Smart Penguins.

Superhero123, the Army leader

In late 2013, Superhero joined the Smart Penguins. This army helped Superhero reach new heights in the army community and taught him valuable leadership lessons. He went on to lead Smart Penguins and win an AUSIA tournament for S/M armies called the Continental Cup. Superhero123 also briefly served as Third in Command of the Ice Warriors, where he led their AUSIA division. In addition to this, he held leadership roles in several other armies, including the Hawks and the Shadow Penguin Force. Among his notable achievements was leading the Green Mercenaries to high rankings on the CP Army Central Major Top Ten list.

The Viking Warlord

After Covid-19 hit the world in 2020, Superhero had enough time to reignite his army career. He started by co-founding the Warlords of Kosmos in April 2020. The army only lasted less than a month, due to a merge with the Shadow troops to form the Golden Guardians. Superhero was able to rise through the ranks until he was able to lead the army, as well as the later newly rebranded Water Vikings in 2021.

A Major Contribution to the Army Community

Despite all of Superhero’s Achievements as an army leader, nothing defines his legacy better than his greatest contribution to the army community. It all started in 2019 when Superhero123 came back to the army community. He was armyless, but he created a CPPS that every army needed during that time. Club Penguin Armies: The Game was an Adobe Flash-based CPPS that focused solely on armies. CPATG essentially allowed armies to outfit all their troops with uniforms, add any desired items, and, most importantly, have their maximum count listed instantly. The creation of CPATG has revolutionized the army community by reducing cheating and multilogging. Superhero’s programming skills and extensive knowledge in CPPS development have allowed him to be crowned as an Army Legend in 2019.

Never Giving UP

In 2020, Adobe discontinued Flash Player and entirely blocked content using the program in 2021. Despite the challenges, Superhero took on the challenge to develop a CPPS that runs on HTML. Development started in 2021, and his masterpiece was finished in 2022. Club Penguin Armies Battleground was officially released in April 2022. Armies still use this CPPS today to host events, wars, and major tournaments. CPAB is a testament to Superhero’s unrelenting resolve not to abandon the community he loved, and he continues to provide support and funding to the game that every army uses today.

To learn more about the legacy he left behind, Club Penguin Armies sat down with Army Legend Superhero123 to gain insight about his experiences.

Which army did you enjoy leading the most?

This is a very tough question, it is definitely either Smart Penguins or Water Vikings, but I can’t really pick between those two.

How do you describe your leadership approach throughout the years?

I believe I was an easy-going leader who emphasized a lot on building a good relationship with the troops, while also focusing on diplomacy and forming strong alliances. However, I also enjoy wars a lot and therefore started plenty.

How did you manage to leave a lasting presence in the armies you led despite the time it took to work on CPAB?

I actually rarely led an army while working on my CPPS at the same time. For example, when I was leading WV my CPPS had shut down cause of death of flash. I think the only time I did both at the same time was on the first generation of WOK, but it was COVID era then, so I had more time 😛

What is your advice for people who want to lead but still try helping the army community through other ways like programming, writing, and designing, among other activities?

Depending on your real-life situation you may or may not have time to do everything at once and you might have to choose 1 path, as tough as it this could sound. Do not put CPA over your actual responsibilities!

We can see that Superhero has left a lasting legacy, a CPPS immortalized in army history. There is no denying that the army community would not have been the same without Superhero’s continued support of the game. Will CPAB continue to exist many years in the future? Is Superhero the greatest developer in the army community?
