WilliamW2010 Assumes Control: New SWAT Supreme Commander

The preliminary months of 2025 have undoubtedly been difficult for the Special Weapons and Tactics. Such is evident with mass retirements, leadership restructuring, and a Discord server defacement taking a toll on the army. Moreover, the Agents faced an additional war against the People’s Imperial Confederation amidst heavy turmoil. Regardless, SWAT has seemed to be on the rise yet again as of late. Their placement on recent monthly Top Tens reflects this, with them mostly maintaining a position in the top ten placements. Moreover, the Agents have reignited their alliance with the Doritos, a formidable friend that will assuredly aid in their continued rise.

Though just as SWAT’s recovery began to become prevalent under the leadership of Holo2, Subzero, and Versa, they witnessed the retirement of the latter leader just days ago. In the wake of this, the SWAT Supreme Commanders announced that WilliamW2010 would be joining alongside them as their new leader. Subzero, in the announcement, cited William’s experience, hard work, and dedication as core factors leading to the promotion.

Willaim has had an extensive career in the community, and within SWAT itself, over the years. He was first introduced to the community prior to the 2021 March Madness tournament, when the Help Force recruited him. His stay there was short-lived, however, as on March 10 that year, he enlisted in SWAT. Under this new army, he continued to attend the remainder of the tournament for the Agents. At that moment, William made a decision to aim for the prestigious role of SWAT commander. Over time, he worked his way up to fourth-in-command, only briefly retiring in December 2024 during the chaos and controversy of that month. He quickly returned, and soon attained the leadership rank he holds today.

Recent SWAT event

Following his promotion, Club Penguin Armies reached out to WilliamW2010 himself for an exclusive interview in order to grasp the deeper details behind his promotion.

First of all, I’m sure you’re excited to take up this new role as leader. How do you feel about it? What are you most excited to do now that you finally lead the army?

It feels wonderful. I’m most excited to be one of the people in charge, one of the go-to people for people’s concerns, to lead a nation even if it be on a clone of a social penguin game made by Disney for children.

That’s great, I wish you well! More on the topic of your future plans, what do you foresee yourself doing for SWAT in the near future? What about long-term goals?

Near future, I definitely plan on bringing back SWAT Bot; figuring out how to drive engagement for recruiting, chat, and events; and generally figuring out a way to revive the army.

Far future, as I’ve said before, but I think people thought I was joking: get a billboard, preferably somewhere like Times Square.

These sound like amazing plans! On another note, many are wondering: what do you think led to your promotion?

Subzero said it himself in DMs; he asked me if I thought I was ready for leader, and when I said yes, he said he agreed. It makes sense; I’ve been in SWATRulers for 1⁄5 of a score of years and have done a wonderful job, becoming Chief of Staff and thus responsible for the staff activity spreadsheet under the Krill administration, which implies a high level of trust and reliability. It’s also not like there’s a lot of competition, and as Holo said in my DMs roughly, they can’t continue forever, and someone new needs to take the reins.
tl;dr: a combination of default judgement and experience.

Alright, do you have anything else to add?

With Williams promotion, a new era dawns upon the Special Weapons and Tactics. We can deduce, from our interview with him, that William has great things in store for the army— including a billboard for recruiting in Times Square. The community have great anticipation for this leadership, and we cannot wait to see what he has in store. What do you think? Will William be able to fill in the vaccuum left by Versa? How will SWAT fare under this new leadership?
