After rising back to Major by the end of last year, the Templars have once again been reclassified as a Small/Medium army. The community will see if recent events will allow the Knights to bounce back quickly.

The Templars of Club Penguin have sat in a precarious position for a while regarding their classification in Club Penguin Armies. In September of 2024, TCP dropped back to Small/Medium after multiple wars during the summer left them averaging sizes of 15. They began to regrow towards the end of the year, and following the Christmas Chaos tournament in December, regained Major status. Unfortunately for them, this upgrade in status would be short-lived.
TCP has struggled in the Top Ten in recent weeks, failing to reach average sizes above 20. Because of this, an announcement was made reclassifying Templars as an S/M army as of February 2. This is despite the Templars remaining active in the past month, engaging in a swift war against the Weeknds of Club Penguin, and forging an alliance with the Smart Penguins.
This reclassification has not stopped TCP from fighting against the Army of Club Penguin, who recently declared war on them. Though TCP is currently losing the war, they have maxed over 20 in multiple battles. This shows that we may not be seeing the Templars as an S/M army for long if they are able to maintain momentum. Last year, they regained Major multiple times, so it is possible that the trend will follow into 2025.

A recent war battle between ACP and TCP
To find out more about this, Club Penguin Armies secured an interview with Templars leader, Echo.
What do you believe is the main cause for TCP’s drop to S/M?
honestly school started and since we are all mainly US based most people get busy. And there was also a slight decline in recruitment
What is the army’s goal to regain its major status?
I’d say we are already on track to major again and the leadership already has a plan to continue growth after the was
In the current war with ACP, the Templars have achieved major sizes. Do you think the war will ultimately help or hinder TCP’s growth?
I think this war will only help us and prove that ACP is ran by incompetent leaders and will slowly go down the same path that armies like SWAT did
It is clear that the Templars do not plan to let this affect their performance and are aware of what caused the drop. Will TCP be reclassified as Major soon? How will the war with ACP affect their sizes in the future? Will any more armies become S/M this month?
