SWAT Shakeup

To strengthen Special Weapons and Tactics‘ leadership, advisors introduced a new rank to bring in CPA veterans Subzero and Holo2 as Supreme Commanders. This decision, however, shifted the existing Commander rank to second-in-command. The sudden change surprised SWAT’s leaders and the broader CPA community, with some members viewing it as an “unofficial coup.”

In addition to the Supreme Commander controversy, Kyle104 and Maguro, SWAT’s former Commanders resigned from leadership due to feeling sidelined and undervalued. According to them, a lack of communication between advisors and current leaders contributed to growing frustration within the leadership team. The power shift, combined with ongoing disputes, led to their decision to step down.

Subzero and Holo2 as Supreme Commanders

Internal Conflict and Fallout

Tensions escalated when former SWAT leader Zuke voiced concerns in the army’s main chat. He alleged that Subzero and Holo2’s intentions were not aligned with SWAT’s best interests and that they were attempting to take the army away from Legoman. His accusations sparked intense discussions, drawing attention from SWAT members and the wider CPA community.

As a result of these conflicts, Holo2 stepped down from the Supreme Commander position. The situation worsened when Subzero announced his retirement, stating he would transition into an advisory role instead. This move further destabilized SWAT’s leadership, creating uncertainty about the army’s future.

Holo2 stepping down

Following internal discussions, Holo2 returned to their Supreme Commander role, while Subzero reversed his retirement decision and remained as SWAT’s Supreme Commander. While this move restored the leadership structure to its previous state, concerns about trust and stability within SWAT remain unresolved.

To gain further insight, Club Penguin Armies reached out to former leaders Maguro and Kyle104.

Why did you leave SWAT?

Maguro: The lack of communication with SWATs very own leader is what pushed me out. While I respect Holo and Subzero for picking up a dead army and attempting a revival, not telling the current leader you’d be completely taking over is not that smartest idea.

Kyle: After constant time and time again telling the advisors that me and maguro didn’t get along, they decided to fuel our feud even more, and once we have left holo and subzero offically took over SWAT. I would get tired of the consistent racism, homophobic and transphobic remarks being made by LEGO & Clade. They also would talk about stealing tcp troops such as elsa. I will not lead a army with such type of people

What are your next steps in your army career?

Maguro: Right now I don’t have much planned. I have gone back into Templars but only as a 2ic rank. I don’t quite know if I see myself anywhere leading here soon.

Kyle: I been done with my achievements, the achievements i have accomplished as leader have been completed under xings leadership in templars.

Club Penguin Armies also reached out to Subzero and Holo2 for an interview.

What motivated your return to Club Penguin Armies, and why did you choose SWAT after so many years?

Subzero: Initially I wanted to have one last run but I held back from that plan as I didn’t have much to work with, I had noticed swat were in a bit of a sticky situation from spending some time back in the armies discords and as I’m a former leader I’d decided coming to advise was something that I needed to do, also to give back to something I once cherished as a whole, after some time I’d realised that from my point of view it wasn’t enough for swat and decided it was time to make that return I’d been holding myself back from. Also, I’d managed to bring back former leader and former longtime partner of mine Holo2, me and him are on the same page as always, just like old times and I’m over the moon I’m lucky enough to lead with and share a retirement run with someone who I’ve led with countless times (golden ages included), my time as advisor from start to finish I would say ultimately I’ve helped the team organise a great new foundation in which the community has yet to see.

Holo2: The idea and concept that a Community such as ours has been able to prosper, even after all these years is astounding, causing me to reflect on my younger years spent in this community, and looking back, one thing that I did not do, was an official retirement run, to call my end in this community official, so I aim to do just that, bring SWAT back to its historically well known sizes, and complete my legacy within this community.

Choosing SWAT was simple, I was approached by my long time friend, Subzero, together we discussed the idea of this final run and with my history of being the 47th Leader of SWAT and Subzero actively sitting at Advisor, it was time for us to take action, and return.

As Supreme Commander, what are your goals and plans for SWAT moving forward?

Subzero: With me and Holo2 side by side once again I think the real question is what are the community’s plans for SWAT, respectfully.

Holo2: Our focus is simple, growth, we are rebuilding from a skeleton crew, however, I have never met more dedicated individuals in my entire CPA career, than the ones who have chosen to stay, and bring SWAT back to its former glory, it may be ambitious, but our goal is this, SWAT returns to the Number 1 position of the Top Ten, its ambitious, but without goals, we have nothing to push for.

What are your thoughts on Kyle104 and Maguro stepping down as swat leaders?

Subzero: In regards to Kyle and maguro stepping down, Kyle had a strong disliking to maguro which ultimately led to the fail of his leadership, I respect and like kyle but he let things get in the way of the betterment of swat. I also respect and like maguro, I would like for him to return if possible but let’s see what happens

Holo2: Personally if it were up to me, I would love nothing more than to continue working with both of them, and to have them working together with us on SWAT, however those are not the circumstances, and I wish both of them nothing but the best on their future endeavours.

While the army’s leadership remains intact, the impact of these events raises important questions about trust, transparency, and the direction of SWAT under its current command. How will the leadership navigate these challenges? Will SWAT restore the army’s internal structure?
