Backgrounds
The Templars of Club Penguin, created by CPA Legend Xing on April 4th, 2018, quickly became a formidable force on both Club Penguin Rewritten (CPR) and Club Penguin Online (CPO). Despite facing periods of defacement and closure, the army’s Roman-inspired organization led to notable success. The Templars engaged in major conflicts, including World War VII, reaching heights of 60+ Knights logged on, and securing high Top Ten placements in the CPPS Army era.
Another well-known CPA Legend, Ayan, founded the Help Force on March 11th, 2018. Rapid growth through mass recruiting led the army to an era dubbed the ‘Golden Age’ of HF. Resultantly, the Help Force saw sizes peaking at 60+ members by the year’s end. Throughout its existence, the Help Force – known for its peaceful stance – faced challenges such as their temporary move to CPR, leadership changes, and internal restructuring. Despite these obstacles and rivalry with the aggressive Templars, the Help Force persevered. As a result, they ended up becoming one of the most resilient and top-ranked armies in the CPPS community.
The ALLIANCE WAR
The first major and well-documented war between the Help Force and the Templars, which was rooted in rising tensions among major armies on CPO, began in June 2019. The Helpers saw rapid growth during this period, with almost 400 recruits joining them weekly. Consequently, tensions intensified as other armies felt threatened by the sudden rise of the Force. Later, leaked messages revealed that the Light Troops were conspiring against the National Army Alliance (NAA) – a coalition of HF and the Ninjas of CP, amongst others.
As a result, this sparked some of the fiercest battles CPO had ever seen. On April 17 that year, the Help Force launched an invasion of Flurry, LT’s capital. This led to the ignition of a large-scale conflict. Moreover, the attack prompted both the Pirates and Templars to join LT’s side, forming the Black Alliance – a counter-alliance to the NAA. Despite intense battles, some results were allegedly marred by bias, forcing Help Force to eventually withdraw from the war.
In the aftermath, the Pirates and Help Force reached neutrality, leading the Pirates to join the NAA. This reform fortified the alliance with four of the most powerful armies: the Help Force, Pirates, Royals, and Aliens. Fueled with renewed strength and coordination, the NAA launched a decisive campaign against the Templars. Under the leadership of Ayan, Spotty, Sacha, Romeo, and Bucky, the NAA’s forces secured a victory. This pushed the Templars to retreat and resulted in their ban from CPO. Furthermore, this conflict cemented the Help Force’s unity and resilience while amplifying its rivalry with the Templars, and further setting the stage for future clashes.
first head-to-head conflict
Shortly after, the second war between Help Force and the Templars reignited when the Templars returned to Club Penguin Online. Lasting about two months, the conflict saw fierce battles as both armies fought for control. Help Force used AUSIA time zones to capture Templar servers without resistance, while the Templars countered during US hours. Reportedly, leaders like Spotty and Lottie had to adjust their schedules to defend. Despite intense clashes, neither side could claim victory. Ultimately, Spotty and Xing agreed to a truce, ending the war in a draw and establishing a temporary alliance.
WAR OF THE SECOND HELPING
The third major conflict between the Help Force and the Templars, known as the “War of the Second Helping,” erupted after years of peace. On August 18, 2024, the Templars declared war on the Help Force, condemning them for targeting the People’s Imperial Confederation, a newly rising major army. The Templars accused Help Force of exploiting weaker armies, igniting a fierce series of battles. Throughout the week, 15 intense battles ensued, with the Templars ultimately leading the score at 8-0-7 (Win-Tie-Loss), as both armies fought vigorously to control territory.
On August 26, 2024, the two armies reached a peace agreement known as the Jerusalem-Zipline Treaty, officially ending the war and restoring all conquered territories to their original owners without a decisive victor. Despite the fierce rivalry, the conflict revealed mutual respect, with both armies showing a willingness to negotiate. The treaty highlighted their strategic resilience and underscored the complexity of their relationship—a balance of intense competition and occasional compromise.
Conclusion
Overall, we have seen that the Templars and Help Force have faced each other in multiple wars, with the most recent conflict erupting after years of relative peace. Despite numerous challenges along the way, both armies have stayed active since their creation, never shutting down. Thus, only time will tell if they will add another chapter to this longstanding rivalry, further expanding their list of fierce battles.
