Guardians in Gridlock: Fitsuki Couped; EGCP Cease Operations

Just after their seventh anniversary, the Elite Guardians have exhibited unprecedented instability. This includes an alleged coup d’état and the closure of the army. We went right to the source to discover what happened and discovered what the army’s future could look like.

The Elite Guardians have a rich history, dating back to late 2017. The most recent generation of this army began operations in 2023, and the following year (2024) proved to be a mixed bag for them. They initially saw numerous victories, such as the Around The World Cup, and their war win against the Templars. However, this trend has not been the case in recent months. Moreover, the last few days have been confusing and controversial – leaving most of the community to wonder: What happened?

recent months; a retrospect

For the last couple of months, the Elite Guardians have been making their mark all over the community, ranging between wars, alliances, and developments in their Top Ten standing.

Throughout August, the Guardians waged a 104-battle war against the Army of Club Penguin. While EGCP was able to win a respectable 39 battles out of the 104 that took place, they were unable to win the war. Although it ended in defeat, it helped them achieve third position in the Top Ten Armies of August.

The Elite Guardians quickly entered another war two days into the next month. On September 2, their brother allies, the Winged Hussars, declared war on them. While this declaration initially surprised most, an interview with the Hussars revealed the nature of this war was friendly. Similar to their last conflict, this ended in another defeat – by default – for the Guardians at the end of the month. Moreover, another major turning point for EGCP during September was the temporary retirement of their first-in-command, Lass. His retirement left Fitsuki as the sole leader, and by the end of the month, they experienced a pattern of decline in their Top Ten standings. This became evident when they dropped to sixth place in the Top Ten Armies of September.

Before October commenced, the Guardians solidified an alliance with the Secret Service. After this, they both joined forces with the Special Weapons and Tactics for an “Olympics” event. This proved to be nothing more than a guise, and the involved armies raided the ACP anniversary event that Sunday.

On October 19, the Elite Guardians held an event honoring their seventh anniversary, reaching a max size of 50. However, the celebrations were abruptly halted just a day later.

Fitsuki’s Fallout

On October 20, the Elite Guardians Consulate made a surprising announcement. In it, they claimed that Fitsuki was responsible for many cases of abuse of power and manipulation, among other things.

Good evening, soldiers of the Elite Guardian Empire.

I come here on behalf of the Consulate, the protective body of the EGCP, consisting of the Founders Cookky2 and Edu14463 and the former leaders Cobra and Gutavuh. I inform you that as of the night of October 20, 2024, Pharaoh Fitsuki is relieved of his duties as Leader and Emperor of the EGCP. The reason behind this decision is due to an independent investigation by the Consulate, together with anonymous members and former members, into Fitsuki’s actions inside and outside the server, this investigation revealed cases that include among other things:

-Abuse of power
-Manipulation, emotional and psychological
-Immoral and abusive treatment of some troops
-Actions that risk the security and internal harmony of the Army

This is just a short and summarized list of what was found, and we hope this further clarifies the reasons that led to such a decision.

We humbly ask that you avoid interacting with him, and stay alert as he may try something against us or defame us. And as people who were vital to the creation and growth of EGCP, we ask that you remain calm about the future of the army, as we will soon announce a new leader for this transition period. We are sorry that things have come to this point, but the EGCP deserves a Leader who respects the troops, officers and veterans, for the sake of our army and our history. Stay tuned for more information, and good night.

LONG LIVE THE EGCP, LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE, LONG LIVE THE SOLDIERS!!

-EGCP Consulate

This coup d’état sparked great controversy, both within and without the army. Additionally, the original version hinted at a potential release of a complete account of events – however, this was edited out.

In order to see Fitsukis side of the story, Club Penguin Armies, reached out for an exclusive statement.

First of all, I would like to make it clear that leaving Elite Guardians was entirely my decision. However, when I announced my decision to the guardians of the army, the Consulate (Edu, Cookky, Cobra and Guta), my position was removed, and an announcement was made to make it look like I was being couped and to tarnish my reputation, in a failed attempt to turn the members against me. All this happened due to my discussions with the Consulate, in which I tried to keep its claws away from the army, in order to preserve it from issues such as disrespect towards staff and leadership, superiority complex, constant attempts to politicize and catechize the server, manipulation, abuse of authority, threats and many other even worse things. In short, any attribution they give to my image says much more about themselves than it does about me. If everything they said about me is true, that I disrespect and mistreat my members, then why have they all decided to leave EGCP now that I have left? Why did numerous cases of revolts appear on the Elite Guardians server after I left? I leave you with these questions.

-Fitsuki, Former EGCP Leader

On the one hand, the EGCP Consulate stated that Fitsuki was forcefully removed from his position. On the other, Fitsuki accuses the Consulate of staging a coup d’état to “tarnish his reputation”. Both sides accuse the other of abuse of power, manipulation and more.

Additionally, former leaders Lass and Cobra took it upon themselves to return to their positions as leaders. This return was in anticipation of a continued generation of the army, and they aimed to facilitate a smooth transition.

Before the announcement of closure that the founders later released, Club Penguin Armies reached out to Lass to delve into his plans for the army at the time.

My goals for the army is to keep up and running like before, most importantly focussing on the army’s line of succession for the moment being, due to numerous incidents of leaders being busy and our training being congestioned. My mission, a part from fixing our next leadership training, is to get the army to be once again succesful, to go back to the place it never should have left, by continuing the reforms of my couped ex-co-leader. It was a shame what happened, but there is nothing I could do about it, the only thing that is left for me is to lead and do whatever it takes.

-Lass, Former EGCP Leader

We also managed to get an official statement from the EGCP Consulate to see what they originally had planned for the army.

For the time being we are not going to discuss explicit details regarding the situation, for our own safety. There were fundamental disagreements between the Consulate and Fitsuki, in which it reached a point where we could not overlook them anymore and felt compelled to act. We are currently in the process of training the future generation of leaders, and Lass has been appointed as the stand in. We see this affecting EGCP negatively at first as Fitsuki was active and knew the newer troops better, but in the long run, this was necessary for EGCP to succeed. If we don’t succeed, we will die knowing we did what was right.

-Edu, Founder – on behalf of the EGCP Consulate

While their plans were not accomplished, these remarks show us that there was an effort to keep EGCP open. This is also the first time the Consulate has revealed to us that they will not be sharing explicit details regarding the situation.

Stirring of Strife; CESSATION OF OPERATIONS

Soon after, an apparent rebellion began to stir amongst the ranks of the Guardians. In response to the coup d’état, alleged supporters of Fitsuki took control of the main EGCP website and hours later, a post was released. Its contents raised serious accusations against members of the EGCP Consulate.

On Tuesday, October 22, the founders of the Elite Guardians officially announced the closure/indefinite hiatus of the army. This came after they discovered that the site was out of their control as well as the aforementioned events. Furthermore, they declared that any attempts to re-open the army without their express consent would be illegitimate.

As soon as Club Penguin Armies got news of this closure, we contacted Cobra for an interview; we discussed with him the events of the past few days and the future of the army.

A lot has happened recently, could you provide us with some details about Fitsuki’s removal and the aftermath?

The Consulate has chose to remain silent regarding much of the context surrounding Fitsuki’s departure as it was purely an internal affair, as well as us being threatened. As per the Consulate announcement on the 20th, an investigation concluded that there were abuses of his position, mistreatment of staff, slander of former leaders, and an attempt to seize control of the army from the Consulate, using numerous inconsistent justifications. The aftermath, following further investigations, saw a rebel army be propped up by some former staff that was later confirmed to be sponsored by the former leader. A few who had a personal vendetta against Edu personally seized the website and continue to hold it over our heads.

What does this mean for the distant future of EGCP, will the army ever return? How possible is this?

We will have to wait and see for what the future brings. It happened in 2023 after 3 years, maybe it’ll happen in 2027 after 3 years

Do you have anything else to add?

Avante, EGCP.

Our short interview with Cobra indicated to us, yet again, that the details regarding Fitsuki’s removal have been made secret. It also gives us a summarized account of what went down, while also alluding that this is not the end for EGCP.

We then went back to Fitsuki to hear what he had to say about the new developments

First of all, I have always had great respect for the members of Consulate, Edu, Cookky, Guta and SavageCobra, however, several occurrences this year have caused my respect for them to decline, until all my respect for them, as an organ of the EGCP, was gone. Such occurrences can be summed up in a lack of respect and recognition for leaders and officers, constant attempts to link politics and religion to the army, repression of those who disagreed with the attitudes of one of them and attempts of manipulation, as well as other things that you, readers, may already be aware of. The sum of these factors made any peaceful solution unfeasible. Therefore, I took the liberty of writing a new constitution for Elite Guardians, which was approved with 100% of the valid votes. Its main points were the dissolution of the Consulate and reducing the Founders’ interference in the army. At no point would the Founders lose their actual powers with this, only the other Consuls, SavageCobra and Gutavuh.

Contrary to what Edu’s statement says, I did not insult anyone at any time, much less threaten anyone’s safety. I did not launch any operation against EGCP, much less did I invent any narrative about anyone. What was done after my departure was the decision of the former members of EGCP, who know very well that I am not as they described me in the announcement of my “removal”. They came together to free those who didn’t know what was happening. Some have taken over the EGCP website and are exposing who the Consulate members really are. Today, I am just one of those revolutionaries and, until now, I continue only to make suggestions and contribute to some things, when necessary. I’m just watching the circus burn.

Furthermore, a post will be made by me on the EGCP website soon explaining in detail everything that led to my departure and the current situation.

-Fitsuki, Former EGCP Leader

Our second dialogue with Fitsuki gave more insight into his side of the story, including more details than before. Moreover, we now know that a post is in the works. This post, scheduled to be released this weekend, will include accounts of different involved persons.

Today, on October 25, Thunder, Elite Guardians Coronel, made a “note” on behalf of Cobra. This note stated that the army’s server would be undergoing some big changes soon. However, the content of these changes is unknown.

All in all, the situation is complex and open to interpretation. On one side, the army’s founders claim that Fitsuki’s removal was necessary. Conversely, Fitsuki argues that his ousting was a cover-up orchestrated in response to discussions aimed at reducing the Consulate’s influence on the army. Regardless, these events ultimately led to the army entering an indefinite hiatus and officially closing its doors. What do you think? What happened? Will the army return soon?
