The Tubas rank among the most intriguing armies in the history of Club Penguin. Even though their time in the spotlight was brief, they made a significant impact on the dynamics of the Club Penguin Army community. In this edition of Picture Perfect, we delve into the fascinating story of the Tubas and explore their influence on the community.
The Tubas came into existence on April 6, 2007, coinciding with the introduction of the Tuba item in the Penguin Style catalog. Penguins formed the army by wearing yellow attire and wielding Tubas. Although early records of their activities are scarce, the army quickly gained recognition for its playful and disruptive approach to the game.
Following the closure of Club Penguin in 2017, the Tubas re-established their presence with the revival of the “Tuba Pride Group” by Cajan and Tygokid on Club Penguin Rewritten. They soon became a force to be reckoned with, attracting about 20 members. Known for their rogue operations and spontaneous engagements, the Tubas operated without a central governing body. This deviant nature appealed to many players, aiding their rise to dominance.
WARS
The Great Tuba War
The Great Tuba War was the most defining conflict for the Tuba Army, which erupted shortly after their reformation in April 2017. The Rebel Penguin Federation, led by Elmikey, accused the Tubas of disrupting the island on Club Penguin Rewritten and declared war on them. The Tubas, known for their playful and rogue behavior, quickly found themselves in a serious battle with a far more organized and experienced opponent. Despite this, the Tubas’ light-hearted yet disruptive nature made them a formidable presence, garnering both attention and support.
During the early stages of the war, the RPF’s superior numbers and organization led to several victories against the Tubas. However, the Tubas’ leaders, Tygokid and Cajan, managed to hold their forces together. They occasionally secured small victories, which boosted morale. As the conflict escalated, other armies began to sympathize with the Tubas, viewing them as underdogs. This included support from the Underground Mafias Army and the United Republic of Penguins, turning the battle into a larger, multi-army conflict.
By the summer of 2017, the war had reached its peak. The Club Penguin Rewritten Army Central recognized its significance and organized a summer tournament that placed the RPF against a coalition of smaller armies, including the Tubas. Though the Tubas ultimately struggled to overpower the RPF, their perseverance and strategic alliances allowed them to earn respect. Their unique approach and persistence in the face of a stronger enemy made them one of the most memorable armies of the post-Club Penguin era.
War of Roman Subjugation
In the War of Roman Subjugation, the Tubas initially remained neutral, reflecting their stance of avoiding close alliances with other armies. On December 7, 2017, during the defense of the Dark Knights capital, Abominable, the Tubas were present but refrained from taking sides as the battle commenced. Their neutral position aligned with their independent and rogue reputation within the Club Penguin Army community, as they often chose not to engage in large conflicts directly.
During the early stages of the battle on December 7, 2017, the RPF used its experience and larger numbers to win many skirmishes against the Tubas. Despite these challenges, the Tubas held their ground and achieved occasional successes. As the conflict progressed, more forces began to view the Tubas as underdogs, leading to increased support. The Underground Mafias Army and the United Republic of Penguins joined the fight, expanding the conflict. By the summer of 2017, the struggle peaked, prompting Club Penguin Rewritten Army Central to stage a summer tournament that paired the RPF against a coalition of smaller armies, including the Tubas.
First Rewritten Cold War
Despite the Tubas’ fun and chaotic nature, internal challenges began to weaken their stability. In October 2017, Scout11 was promoted to leader following the resignations of Cajan and Tygokid. The Tubas briefly enjoyed community support, even receiving assistance from Club Penguin Rewritten owner Codey. However, by November, repeated offensives from the RPF, combined with internal discord and attacks on their discord server, led to the Tubas’ decline. These setbacks culminated in a ceasefire agreement between the Tubas and RPF on November 30, 2017.
