This past weekend, the community was transported back in time to the Regency era for the Summer Gala. Many festivities were held, with many surprises surrounding the winners of the Summer Awards.
Opening Ceremonies
The festivities started at the beginning of the week, starting with a summer grams event. Across the following days, people sent messages to each other, with varying levels of kindness. By the time the grams closed, people had sent many funny messages to their friends in the Army community.
The Club Penguin Armies‘ Admins and Community Committee announced the Regency era as the theme of the gala. This era is a piece of English history, dating from around 1795–1837. This period was full of extravagance and the blooming of intellectual art. The Community Committee and Admins had been teasing this theme, with many staff members changing to Bridgerton profile pictures.
Summer Gala
The Army community logged on to Sleet in CPABattleground, wearing Bridgerton-esque gowns and suits. At the same time, the organisers held a fashion show, with people submitting their best looks to win the titles of Regency King and Queen. The fashion show was a tough contest, with Community Committee Head Zooy crowning Calgocubs and Spotty as Regency King and Queen.
Following the end of the fashion show, the community moved to Club Penguin Journies to gather in an igloo designed for the Summer Awards. For the past few days, the community had voted under several categories. The Community Committee and Admins proceeded to announce the results of these votes, giving award winners a chance to say a few words. Thank you to the Admins and Community Committee members who planned this event!
The results followed the same trend as last year, with the Army of Club Penguin winning the majority of awards. There were a few surprises this year, with many people from other armies also winning awards. What do you think of this year’s theme? Are there any new awards you would like to see introduced? Who do you think deserves the brightest bulb award the most?
