As the Legends Cup continues brewing, the Special Weapons and Tactics held their astounding 15th anniversary. Despite the army’s controversial past, SWAT demonstrates that even through difficult times, one can still have a significant impact on the army community. Let’s delve into how the army’s anniversary celebration went.

The Special Weapons and Tactics were formed on July 7, 2009, by Army Legend Ganger90. SWAT quickly gained recognition in the original Club Penguin. They operated mainly as a rogue army, using the Snow Forts and Mammoth servers for the Agents’ events. Throughout the years, SWAT dominated the S/M and Major army scene. The army went through many generations of service in the community before closing in 2017.

SWAT re-opened in March 2020 on Club Penguin Online during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, this time under the leadership of Zuke, Sweater, and Darklink. The Agents successfully maxed out at 100+ people the month after re-opening. However, the army noticed a major size decrease throughout April and May of 2020. SWAT decided to merge into the Doritos of Club Penguin on May 18, 2020, due to fluctuations in the Agents’ sizes.

After merging into DCP, the decision ended up being short-lived as Ganger90 made a statement explaining that SWAT would not be closing and would be starting a new generation with some new leaders. SWAT successfully re-opened on May 30, 2020 with some new leaders, including Sophy Bee, Izzy, Sweater, and xFastx.

Since reopening, the SWAT generation has continued until the present day now under the leadership of Fun X Time, Zooy, and Fwapo. Currently, SWAT has endured some harsh wars and battles, mostly with the Templars and the People’s Imperial Confederation due to conflicts. SWAT’s attempts to prove their bravery and skill in both of these wars ended in failure. The other armies, with greater numbers and dominance, prevailed over SWAT.

Aside from their highs and lows, SWAT has consistently made recurring appearances throughout the community, always being involved in tournaments, wars, and the top ten rankings. Although the army has faced many controversies throughout the years, they have always fought back regardless of everyone else’s opinions.

For the Agents’ anniversary week, SWAT hosted events with a variety of anniversary drops and prizes. These included a SWAT Board featuring positive and nostalgic messages from the Agents, a Spotify playlist, an interview with Ganger90, and more. SWAT also saw new inductions of troops, staff, HCOM, and veterans. During their official anniversary event, the army reached a peak attendance of 20, SWAT’s highest max since November 2023.

For this special celebration, Club Penguin Armies asked a few SWAT members for a statement about their anniversary.

How do you feel about SWAT’s growth in these 15 years?

Zooy, SWAT Leader: I am extremely proud of how far SWAT has come, and I’m excited to see what SWAT’s future holds. The anniversary event was honestly amazing just to see everyone coming together to support and commemorate SWAT! I believe that the festivities and all the community support really helped pump life back into SWAT, so now we just have to keep the ball rollin’, so thank you to everyone who came, and everyone who has supported or is supporting SWAT! It is also definitely an honor to have been inducted to leader and veteran, so that’s a funsies!!! But what I must say is: in the end, our first 15 years will soon feel far away, distant from the acme of success we shall climb to. Fun X Time, SWAT Leader: Special Weapons and Tactics has efficiently been able to host the 15th Anniversary Week this year. The event was wholesome! SWAT troops saw multiple events take place throughout the week, including game nights and activities. Additionally, the week seemed to be undisturbed from diplomacy. SWAT has successfully upgraded itself, now deploying very high sizes. We acquired the highest size of the week, 20, at the Anniversary Event held on Sunday. According to many, the event was very nostalgic. Many former SWAT veterans, former staff members, and former troops entered the scene. The SWAT Corporation has been actively planning this event since early 2024. We were too intrigued for this much-awaited occasion. We created beautiful memories that we shall cherish eternally! SWAT forever!

After examining these statements, the Agents show that SWAT is still very proud of their successes, no matter what obstacles are in the way. After 15 years as an army, they have shown great dedication. We wish the Special Weapons and Tactics all the best in their future endeavors within Club Penguin Armies.
