With over a decade of history under their helm, the Templars have reached a historic six years of activity. Experiencing many triumphs and challenges over the years, this anniversary is certainly a momentous milestone for the Knights.
Army Legend Xing established the Templars in April 2018. They quickly gained a reputation as an army favoring regular warfare, evident from their early conquest against the Elite Guardians shortly after their opening. Though the Knights faced multiple challenges throughout their first few months of existence, it did not take long before they found themselves in one of their first notable conflicts. Following the inductions of Elmikey and Cobra as leader of the Crusaders, tensions began to boil over with the Rebel Penguin Federation. Founding the Red Dawn Alliance, the Templars entered World War VII against the Rebels.
Under the Club Penguin Online Army League, the Templars dominated much of the map throughout late 2019. Warring with multiple armies such as the Help Force, Aliens, Royals, and Pirates, the Knights’ reached sizes of up to 60 penguins, owning four out of the seven servers available on CPO. This era saw the introduction of Templars’ Legends Brownpen and Freedomist into the army, as they worked to establish alliances with smaller armies. Eventually transitioning into the Club Penguin Rewritten community, they continued their crusade against the Elite Guardians, Pretzels, and Lime Green Army.
Becoming a juggernaut of the CPPS army community, the 2020s marked a new era for the Templars. Securing victories in tournaments such as New Years Bonanza and Legends Cup XII in 2022, the Crusaders undoubtedly reached a new peak of prominence. For his tenure as Emperor of the Templars, Xing was named Person of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Though Xing’s reign as leader would eventually end in 2023, the Templars have remained a major presence in the community. Participating in World War IX in 2023, the Knights have achieved stability with leaders such as Dawnables, Nicky_3070, and Moon.
The Templars celebrated their six years of activity with an event on CPA Battleground, boasting a maximum size of 43 penguins. Only days after their anniversary, it was announced that Mocha, Penguins of Madagascar leader, had resigned from her position and joined the Templars shortly after. Mocha originally joined armies through the Dark Vikings, where she served as a high-command member for over nine months. However, she is best known for her recent POM leadership, where she recently guided her army through the April Ambush conflict against the People’s Imperial Confederation. Spending a productive few months as Templars Leader-in-Training late last year, she helped rally the Knights through the Christmas Crusade. It is clear through her induction as leader that she has great things to offer the Templars.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Mocha to learn more about her retirement and recent induction as Templars leader
Having been in the Templars before, how does it feel to now be leader? Why did you choose to return?
If I’m being honest, when I was promoted to Grand Prior I was crying. I’m glad to be their leader. Although, I chose to return because I realized how much I loved Templars and it felt like the army I needed to be in right now.
You recently served as commander of the Penguins of Madagascar. Did anything prompt your decision to leave?
As much as I loved POM, I just couldn’t handle it anymore. Throughout my leadership with Pingo, Rye, and somewhat logical, there would be constant arguments every other day. When it came to Rye or Pingo leading battles, I’m sorry to say but it was sloppy. It would be both leaders leading a room sending commands at once which made it confusing. Overall, pom wasn’t the army for me.
What are your goals as Grand Prior of the Templars? What can we expect from your leadership?
One of my specific goals is to make our US division better than what it currently is. Our US is strong but I plan to make it stronger. Overall i have many goals for this army, I hope to lead this army into success.
Do you have any notable memories or moments from your time in the Penguins of Madagascar?
I do. It was the time were we got to participate in March Madness and April Ambush although we did lose both the tournament and the war, it was good to see many members come back and participate.
Though celebrating a milestone and accepting a new leader with open arms, the Crusaders have had little opportunity to continue celebrations. Earlier this week, long-term rival Water Vikings announced a declaration of war, with a battle scheduled for the 9th of April.
The Templars of Club Penguin have undoubtedly established themselves as a mainstay in the community over the past six years. Though they have witnessed countless triumphs in wars and tournaments, time will tell whether this success will continue in future endeavors. With a war against the Water Vikings approaching the horizon, how will the Templars fare on the battlefield this time?
it would be nice if you mentioned epic, melkor, brownpen, liam and king and other leaders for once.
