Happy Pride Month! Whether you identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, prefer not to label yourself, or are allied to the community, we are excited to be hosting a range of Pride events and projects this June to celebrate.

The month of June is the month dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ communities all around the world. It is the month dedicated to honouring the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognise the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

Here at CP Army HQ, we are keen to champion our LGBT+ community members with a range of exciting projects and events. Let’s see what we have in store for you.

Pride Party on CPA Battleground

From the first week of June, CPA Battleground will be launching a Pride Party for the community. The designers and developers at CPA Battleground have been working extremely hard in collaboration with CP Army HQ to bring this to life. A huge thank you must be extended to Haleyyy, Frostty, AgentFrog1, Master DS, Subster, The Scarlet, Chicc and Superhero123 for all their efforts. Oh, and look out for the exclusive custom items and collectable pin too!

Community Pride Parade

We are supporting the second annual Community Pride Parade on CP Army Battleground. This is taking place on Saturday, June 18th at 3 pm EST. Just like the pride parade of 2021, we are excited to see the entire community come together for this celebration. There will be custom items, games, trivia, prizes and much more.

Flag Scavenger Hunt

As part of the Pride Party on CPA Battleground, there will be the first-ever in-game scavenger hunt for players to take part in. This will be released in tandem with the Community Pride Parade.

gAyCP: Seven Years Later

Seven years on from an article that explored the prevalence and acceptance of LGBT+ members in Club Penguin Armies, we revisit the army leaders of the present day with the same questions to truly see how far we have come.

‘Loud & Proud’ Column Series

We are reviving the column format for this new ‘Loud & Proud’ series. In each edition, we will be speaking to LGBTQIA+ individuals, who will be sharing their story and experiences. The first of these will be a deep dive into the rich queer history of the Army of CP, featuring army legends Shaboomboom, Mchappy and Koloway.

Iconic LGBT+ Moments in the Army Community

We’re heading back in time to highlight some of the most iconic LGBT+ moments in the army community from across the years. Can you guess what will make the list?

LGBTQ&A

To encourage education and open discussion within the community, an LGBTQ&A project will be launched on our Discord server later this week. You will be able to submit any questions you have surrounding LGBTQ+ issues, rights, and culture. These questions will then be answered by various different members of the LGBT+ community.
