How is Your Army Preparing for March Madness XI?

With the spring season approaching, another edition of March Madness is around the corner. Some armies are already preparing strategies to go all out in the tournament. How are they doing that?

March Madness originated in 2013 when Club Penguin Armies Central held the first edition of this tournament. The tournament was a huge success, and CPAC hosted three more editions until 2016. However, due to the shutdown of Club Penguin and CPAC, the tournament came to a halt. The Club Penguin Army League returned MM in 2020, for the first edition of the Club Penguin Private Server era. This tournament sparked massive controversy, eventually settling in the August Sadness that same year to resolve a winner. Club Penguin Army Headquarters held one in 2021, with another held by independent army leaders in 2022. Since then, Club Penguin Armies hosted every edition of March Madness. MM XI is the first tournament of this year where armies can showcase their best strategies and tactics.

Last year, the Rebel Penguin Federation won the tenth edition of MM after defeating Help Force, with Doritoes of Penguin coming third.

Now the eleventh edition of this tournament is coming up. This year, we hope to see many exciting battles as armies aim to start 2026 very strong. Many major armies, as well as small/medium armies, are reaching impressive sizes in tournament battles. As a result, the expectations of many armies are high, and they are eager to win. Club Penguin Armies asked each army about how they prepared for the tournament.

How is your army preparing for March Madness XI?

Daniel, Army of Club Penguin: Just like any other army: training, recruiting, perfecting skills, and much more.

Sidie, Templars: Our new Discord server has gained over one thousand members since the January Exodus defacement barely a month ago. This demonstrates the hard work of the Templars in recent weeks and our efforts will only continue. Templars will be going for gold. We aim to be a genuine contender for the trophy in March Madness XI and this will be evident on the battlefield.

Escot, Water Vikings: WV is preparing for March Madness by grinding out and having new ideas on the horizon for the tournament. Many surprises are coming to be seen soon.

Coolguy, Dark Warriors: The Dark Warriors’ preparation for March Madness began long before now. It began right after the Christmas Chaos, and I think that has been shown clearly. Our recruiting numbers have increased massively, much like our activations, our numbers in-game, and we are continuously growing day by day. Our focus is and always is how to prepare DW for the future, how to improve, how to grow and we continue to aim to grow. For MM, we are working on our weaknesses and aiming to improve and each and every one of them. If we want to beat the best, we have to be on top form and we will continue to work to become the best

Jo, Help Force: We’ve been focusing more on recruitment, especially with CPJ events. Last week, we hosted 5 events instead of our usual 2, and as a result, our activity has increased greatly and we’ve been getting a lot more recruits. We also plan to do some trainings as well as some other activities to boost engagement

Ulysses S. Nardo, Romans: We’ve been hosting a wide range of practice battles lately, including exciting clashes with SL and SR, and we’ve been stepping up our training events with creative new twists to make them more engaging and rewarding for everyone who attends. One recent highlight was a special event where our forces faced off against a fearsome dragon, and each successfully executed tactic struck a blow against the beast, turning tactics and coordination into a dynamic, story-driven experience. The battle even featured an official narrative, which you can read in the Romans website post, Tuiticius and the Dragon Wars.

Klombe, Fire Vikings: We are recruiting more troops than usual and bringing in more staff to max more troops in the war and hopefully win and eventually get the S/M trophy.

Ghostt, Scarlet Republic: SR has been preparing for March Madness by putting in lots of work and building up a lot of the systems within the army that will help us grow stronger. This will basically be our month to test if our plans will work well or not

Thunder, Shadow Legionnaries: To be fair we are not totally sure abt our preparation, the morale for this might effect people coming with us mostly having to depend on EU, AUSIA has been slowly crumbling down too. If we lose then we have to take a shift to getting out of the situation and a slow shift to events

Kento, Cryo Vanguards: So us from CV, we are planning to max a lot with allies, focusing on recruiting, eventually beating WV in MM XI, especially with help from our boys over at fire Vikings, we might beat WV in MM XI.

Certainly, with all the hard work these armies are putting in, the community is set for a good show. Who will be able to overcome the madness? Will there be any controversies in this tournament?
