The first battles of March Madness XI begin on March 7 and March 8 with twelve total armies. To gauge the visible strength of various armies, community members predicted who would win each of the four battles.
This weekend marks the beginning of March Madness XI, with the first battles taking place on March 7, 2026. As per recent tournaments, there will be both a small/medium winner and a major winner. Before that, however, come the qualifiers, where only eight of the twelve armies will be facing off against each other. The three armies that will automatically move onto the quarter-finals are the Army of Club Penguin, Rebel Penguin Federation, and Templars. This week will consist of battles with the Shadow Legionnaires vs the Romans, the Water Vikings vs the Cryo Vanguards, Help Force vs the Fire Vikings, and Dark Warriors vs the Scarlet Republic.
Club Penguin Armies asked various community members for their predictions.
Shadow Legionnaires vs Romans
The first battle of March Madness XI will pit the Shadow Legionnaires against the Romans. This will perhaps be the battle that most people are excited for in this round, considering that this is the only battle in which two S/M forces face off. This battle will occur at 1 PM EST on March 7. Both have considerable experience and have participated in previous battles at this time. The winner of this battle will face off against the RPF and will have an advantage in reaching the S/M finals. As per most community members, the Romans will be the stronger force in this battle. SL has a chance to make it competitive.
Jo, Help Force Leader: I think Romans will win 2-1. They usually max more in regular events. However, it’s hard to tell their tournament performance as SL and Romans have inconsistent maxes which is why I put 2-1 instead of 3-0, as I can’t know for certain what their maxes will be like at the battle.
Ango, Water Vikings HCOM: For SL vs Romans, I am hoping it’ll be the Shadow Legionnaires, though I’m not entirely sure the battle is going to be favorable for them
Yellow Typer, Fire Vikings Advisor: 2-1-0 Romans dub
Midnight, Dark Warriors Leader: Romans and SL both have a lot of battle exp and were top 2 in the Army World Cup, might be close. Romans will have the upper hand though. They have veterans assist in tournaments so we will probably see size increase. I’m guessing 2-1-1, Romans win.
Sidie, Templars Leader: SL vs Romans – I think both armies have demonstrated their strength in the Small/Medium army scene, they should be very proud. I think the Romans will win 2-1-0 (W-T-L) as they seem to have a more competent team and leadership overall.
Help Force vs Fire Vikings
The second battle on March 7 will likely be less competitive, with a major army facing a small/medium army. However, an upset is always a possibility, with the Fire Vikings having previous experience. The winner of this battle will face the Templars in the Quarter-Finals. Based on the responses of all community members, it seems that the winner is obvious.
Ango, Water Vikings HCOM: For HF vs FV, definitely Help Force. No need to explain further.
Midnight, Dark Warriors Leader: HF vs. FV: 3-0, HF win
Znation, Romans Leader: HF wins against FV
Sidie, Templars Leader: HF vs FV – Fire Vikings have been doing well, but I expect a Help Force 3-0 sweep. Regardless of overall form, HF has always shown up for tournaments and that won’t change.
Water Vikings vs Cryo Vanguards
The Cryo Vanguards formed recently and have little experience in tournaments. However, they recently faced a war against the Romans, allowing them some time to prepare. The Water Vikings, however, have years of experience, and are a major army with their highest max at 32 in last week’s Top Ten. Due to this classification, the winner of this battle may once again be obvious to the community. The winner of this battle was supposed to face the Aliens, but the Aliens recently withdrew from the tournament.
Midnight, Dark Warriors Leader: 3-0-0 WV dub
Znation, Romans Leader: Water Vikings win against CV
Yellow Typer, Fire Vikings Advisor: 3-0-0 WV dub
Jo, Help Force Leader: WV 3-0. They’re a major army and max a lot more than CV, so CV really doesn’t stand a chance.
Sidie, Templars Leader: WV vs CV – 3-0 for Cryo Vanguard. If Cryo Vanguard has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Cryo Vanguard has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Cryo Vanguard has only one fan then that is me. If Cryo Vanguard has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Cryo Vanguard, then I am against the world.
Dark Warriors vs Scarlet Republic
This battle could be closer than the other major vs S/M army battles, because Dark Warriors only recently achieved major army status. However, Dark Warriors have also held higher maxes consistently in recent weeks. The Scarlet Republic, while experienced, is not this large, and as a result, most community members predict that DW will win this battle. The winner of this battle will face the Army of Club Penguin next.
Znation, Romans Leader: Dark Warriors win against Scarlet Republic
Yellow Typer, Fire Vikings Advisor: 3-0-0 DW Dub
Jo, Help Force Leader: DW 3-0. DW recently got Major and they usually max well. SR is still small/medium and their maxes haven’t really changed so I don’t see them winning
Ango, Water Vikings HCOM: For DW vs SR, definitely Dark Warriors, they’ve had a great rise (at least on the Top Ten) so I gotta give that to them.
Sidie, Templars Leader: DW vs SR – I have always had immense respect for Scarlet Republic but I think the outcome will be 3-0 once again, in favour of Dark Warriors. DW has been on the rise, they could reach the semi-finals with enough effort and determination, I can’t imagine SR matching them in this battle.
According to the community, the likeliest armies to move onto the Quarter Finals will be the Romans, Help Force, Water Vikings, and Dark Warriors. All losing armies this week could still participate in the S/M finals through tiebreakers. However, there could always be surprises before this tournament ends, so every army should try their hardest. Good luck to all armies battling this week! Who is more likely to win between the Romans and Shadow Legionnaires? Will we see any surprises in the qualifiers?
