We are currently one day away from March, yet the madness has already begun. Thus, now is the perfect time to look at the March Madness XI Qualifiers matchups, which are set to take place next week.

Designed by MasterDS
As mentioned above, March Madness XI begins next weekend. The tournament will follow the usual single-elimination format, but with the addition of the Small-Medium trophy, in the same way as Christmas Chaos XV. This means that the winners of the Qualifiers will proceed to the Quarter Finals. Then, the winners of those will proceed to the next round and so on. In the Semi-Finals, the winning armies will proceed to the Grand Finals, while the losing armies will have a third-place battle. At the same time, the Small Medium army that advances the furthest will win the SM trophy. If two or more SM armies get eliminated in the same round, then there will be a battle to decide the winner.
In this tournament, we see 12 armies participating. This is one more compared to CCXV and almost all of the currently active non meme armies. The full schedule of the tournament is the following, with the entirety of the tournament taking place throughout March:
SChedule
Qualifiers: March 7 & 8
Quarter Finals: March 14 & 15
Semi Finals: March 21 & 22
Grand Finals, SM Finals, 3rd Place Battle: March 28 & 29
Information about the Quarter Finals round will be published after the Qualifiers.
Rules
To ensure the tournament runs smoothly, we have established the following rules based on previous and recently updated tournament policies. Please make sure to read them carefully.
- Reviews will only be allowed for the Grand Finals (Major and S/M) and will be conducted by unaffiliated (to the battle) Head Judges.
- Just like in the previous tournaments, there have been deadlines set concerning the review process:
- Leaders cannot request a review more than three hours after the final results are posted. Additionally, they cannot submit evidence later than 21 hours after requesting a review (videos should be submitted as soon as possible).
- Head Judges must notify both armies about the review and whether it will proceed as soon as possible. The deadline for the Head Judges to complete the review is 24 hours after the evidence submission deadline.
- Attendance policy: Individuals are allowed to attend for an army if:
- They enlisted in the army before March 6, 3 PM EST. It does not matter if they are also enlisted in another army. Advisors count as an active rank.
- They are not enlisted in any army. The Ice Warriors and other former armies that have not held events for four weeks, or have shut down, like the Void Troops, do not count as armies.
- They must stick with the same army throughout the tournament. If this army is eliminated, they cannot attend battles for any other.
- The judging will be undertaken by Club Penguin Army Judges and organized by the Head Judges.
- Each army has the right to veto up to two judges per battle. Once an army has used both vetoes, it cannot issue any more for that battle. Vetoes must be made before the four-hour mark and cannot be used against Head Judges unless they are affiliated with an army. If no available judges remain after the vetoes, the Head Judges may appoint individuals, including those previously vetoed, to ensure the battle proceeds smoothly.
- Judges will be announced well in advance (typically shortly after the week’s schedule is announced).
- Each room will have three judges. If there are not enough judges, a Head Judge may count as two. The Grand Finals will have five judges.
- Anybody banned from CPA: Battleground cannot participate in tournament battles (including but not limited to attending on alts, leading from Discord or other third-party websites, etc.). If found guilty of violating this rule by the administrator’s discretion, the army they are involved with will be disqualified.
To avoid color clashes in battles, the Head Judges have requested that armies wear differing colors for battles that may have a clash in color during the tournament. Club Penguin Armies will contact armies in private to determine color changes.
Armies are encouraged to make custom spring/March-related uniforms for the tournament. Make sure not to use large items in your uniform. Direct message a picture of your uniform to the Administration for approval. The sooner you message the Administration, the sooner they will get added as well, though this is not something the Administration can control.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Head Judges and Judges at Club Penguin Army Judges for their support and preparation, and to the CPAB team for making sure the tournament can take place in a safe and reliable CPPS.
Good luck to all participants, may the best and luckiest army win! Who do you think will move forward to the next round? Which battle are you most excited to watch?
