Another day, another summary. Exactly one week ago, Club Penguin Armies announced Operation: Winterstorm, a beta test of their new map. Today, we will recap the battles and invasions that happened on the fourth day of this tournament, January 27.

Designed by MasterDS
Operation: Winterstorm is a tournament hosted by Club Penguin Armies to beta test their new map. Players are divided into four teams, set by their army if affiliated and chosen if not, namely Red, Blue, Green, and Black, all fighting for land, aiming to have the most by Sunday. Since the last time we checked in on this tournament, almost all freeland had been taken, and thus, mainly only invasions upon other teams have been possible, with Red fighting Black and Green fighting Blue. Some teams have done better than others, but no team has been eliminated yet.
What follows is a summary of every single WinterStorm battle and invasion hosted on this day:
Invasion of Parka (Black) | 07:30 EST
Red won by default due to Black no-showing, maxing 16.

Green Invasion of Down under (Freeland) | 08:45 EST
This was a successful freeland for Green.

Some Red Propaganda
Blue Invasion of Tea (Green) | 10:00 EST
Room 1
Room 1: Blue entered first. Green entered a UT formation and Blue a UV, with sizes 15-11 favoring Green. Near the start of the room, Blue was more organized and better formed, with Green at a higher completion. Both teams had high speed, but Green’s form was messy. Green waterfell with Blue defending. Green entered a V, with Blue slowly assembling a plus; judges noted that this plus was messy but quickly fixed.
At this point, Green mostly covered Blue, with Blue occasionally shining through. The sizes were 19-14, favoring Green. Green raked and Blue bombed. Blue assembled a / formation, which judges deemed a blunder. The conclusion was that Green dominated most of the room (:03-:09), with Blue dominating a little bit (:00-:02); in addition to this, Green had better coverage, cleaner formations, and faster formations. Green victory.
Room 2
Room 2: This room started with Blue entering, with green slowly crawling after. Blue assumed an upside-down T formation, with Green assuming an A formation. Initially, Green’s form was messy, but it quickly improved. Blue was covering incredibly well, especially for their size disadvantage. The sizes were 20-13, favoring Green. Blue then formed a UV before clockwise bombing, which Green defended slowly (but not poorly) against.
Blue manufactured a backwards L, with Green slowly constructing a plus. Judges noted Green’s slowdown in pace. Sizes 21-13. Blue had more activity with a better form. Green’s formation was gappy and bunched. Blue bombed, with Green quickly defending; Green then bombed, with Blue not defending. Blue erected an X formation, which was subpar, though quickly fixed. Green erected an upside-down T. The sizes at this point were 19-13, favoring Green. Around this time, it was noted that both Green and Blue had died. Because Blue dominated the first half and Green the second, this room was a tie.
Outcome: 1-1-0 victory for Green

Green Invasion of Iceberg (Blue) | 14:30 EST
Room 1: Blue entered the room first. Sizes 22-16 favored Green; this allowed Green to produce larger formations. The L and UT of Green were noted to possess superior coverage, as opposed to Blue’s formations (Including the X). Green Victory.
Room 2: Blue once again entered first. Green erected a massive, clean V, managing to hold a size advantage early on. However, Blue performed several reckless but successful moves, like sitting directly on Green or forming a large plus, covering the whole room. Despite Green’s size advantage (20 versus 15) and a well-performed X, Blue was still able to cover Green effectively. Tie
Outcome: 1-1-0 victory for Green

One of the Blue – Green battles of that day
Green Invasion of Deu Branco (Blue) | 14:51 EST
Room 1: Green entered first. Sizes 20-13. Green formed a good UT, and later an equidistant X and triangle, an effective cover for Blue. Blue started by forming a V, though they had significant struggle forming a plus, taking a large period of time to form it. Judges noted that Green made an effective optical illusion, shrinking Blue with their dominance. Green victory.
Room 2: Entry time was a draw. Green’s first formation was an A formation, completely perfect as regards covering, making Blue barely distinguishable. The difference between the sizes of Blue and Green expanded. Blue attempted to use an inverted Lambda and L formation to defend, which the judges praised for having an optimal density, despite Blue’s small size. Green’s plus and angle (<) formations sealed the deal. Green victory.
Outcome: 2-0-0 victory for Green

Blue Invasion of Fog (Green) | 16:30
Room 1
Room 1: Blue entered first, with Green covering well. Sizes 19-16 favoring Green. Green quickly assembled a BL, and Blue made a plus. Blue’s form was of slightly lower quality, which slowly improved. Green was sending tactics faster and with more troops than Blue. It was quite easy to find gaps in Blue’s form, forming an optical illusion making them seem even smaller. Green was the first to move with a rake, which was replied to with a bomb from Blue. Green made a skewed L, and Blue quickly made a UY; Green’s form was slightly messy, however, this was quickly mended.
Blue’s UY had bunching; however, they still did a good job covering Green. Sizes 18-18. Blue greatly improves their form with the extra troops, though density issues still arise in the middle. Blue rakes first, catching Green off-guard and delaying a response, though Green quickly finds a BWB and holds it well. Green then bombs with emotes; it is not the best move. Green forms a UT, yet again, the form is messy, being covered by Blue. Blue had some AFKs but still showed greater activity than Green. Sizes 19-18 favoring Blue. Blue continues to do well with the forms, with Green making repeated blunders. Green dominated the first half and blue the second, so this room was tied.
Room 2
Room 2: Blue entered first. The green team attempts to assemble a form that eventually settles as a UV. Blue erects an X. Green’s form was a wise move; however, it was executed poorly. Both armies suffered density issues, both bunching and gappiness. Blue had the better balance of tactic types and awakeness. Blue moved first, causing Green to bomb by accident. Green waterfell whilst Blue assembled a UV.
Green created a BL, a blunder on Docks, due to the room’s shape. Sizes 19-17 favoring Blue and Green is having activity issues. Blue does a bomb, for which Green had sufficient defenses, and then remarkably quickly formed a UT. Green performed a CCW bomb, which had a lot of troops getting stopped by terrain, causing low coverage. The battle ended with sizes 19-18 favoring Blue. Due to all of Green’s blunders, Blue’s sheer volume, Blue’s forms, and Blue’s tactical creativity, Blue is declared the winner
Outcome: 1-1-0 victory for Blue.

Red Invasion of North Pole (Black) | 17:45 EST
Room 1: Red entered first, erecting a clean T. Despite entering late, Black was able to catch up with their horizontal and UT forms. Judges enjoyed the creative tactics of both sides. Eventually red formed a wonderful V, and despite Black’s attempt at waterfalling, Red’s victory was declared.
Room 2: Docks, red entered first, assembling an L quickly. In a flash of creativity, Black also formed an L, shifted a tiny amount to the right, an interesting scene. Red’s diagonal was perfect, and the effort of Black to cover it was easily noticeable. Judges noted that Black improved over the course of the room, as proven by their horizontal, the last half being equal. The judgment came out in a tie.
Outcome: 1-1-0 victory for Red

Some nice team-themed art
Scheduled invasions for Day 5
January 28 was a very active day, with Red and Black fighting for Rainbow, which is owned by Red, Migrator, also Red-owned, and Northern Lights, Black, in that order.
Green and Blue will be fighting over the Blue-owned Deep Freeze, Cabin (Blue), as well as Olympia, which is owned by Green. Additionally, Green has scheduled a freeland on Fiesta, one of the last two remaining freelands, the other being Marshmallow.

Some more Red propaganda
So that is the current status of the map, as of day 4. Quite a doozy, but we made it. This tournament is looking wonderful. What do you think will happen to the different teams? Will Blue finally be able to invade Tea? Let us know.
