Operation: Winter Storm is a tournament hosted by Club Penguin Armies to beta test its new map. Players are divided into four teams, set by their army if affiliated and chosen if not, namely Red, Blue, Green, and Black, all fighting for land, aiming to have the most by Sunday. Since the last time we checked in on this tournament, almost all free land had been taken, and intense battles had taken place, with over 40 penguins online in some. Some rivalries have formed, with Red fighting Black and Green fighting Blue. Some teams have done better than others, but no team has been eliminated yet.
What follows below is a summary of every activity that took place on January 28, the fifth day of invasions.
Free Land Invasions
Operation: Winter Storm day 5 started at 9 AM EST, with the Blue Team invading Avalanche, and the Green Team invading Permafrost. Both invasions were successful, as both teams brought more than 5 troops to the servers. Additionally, late at night, at 10 PM EST, the Green Team smartly used a ship to invade Fiesta — another successful Green invasion.

TEAM BATTLES
Surprisingly, the community witnessed a total of seven battles take place yesterday. Four between teams Blue and Green, and three between teams Black and Red. Let us learn what happened in each battle.
Blue Team vs. Green Team Battles
The first battle of the day, between these two teams, was the battle for Tea at 2:32 PM EST. Since no judges were available, the battle was recorded, and the results are yet to be released.

Nonetheless, this was just the start for these two teams. The next invasion was the Green invasion of Deep Freeze at 3:32 PM EST. In this battle, the Blues outsized the Greens, as both peaked at 15 and 12, respectively. The former’s superiority in tactics and well-executed formations led to their victory, with a room win and a tie. Only a minute after the invasion ended, at 3:54 PM EST, the Green invasion of Cabin began. Once more, the same outcome happened. With little size drops from both sides (14-10 in favor of the Blues), again the Blues successfully defended their land with a room win and a tie.

Later, at 4:55 PM EST, the Blue Team took the offensive, attempting to invade Olympia. This time, the Green Team managed to beat the Blue Team and secure their land. Sizes were equal, fluctuating around 12. Therefore, the battle was a close one, which resulted in a tie and a room victory for the Greens.
Black Team vs. Red Team Battles
The rivalry between these two teams has been intense since day 1. The first invasion of January 28 for these teams was the battle for Rainbow, at 3:30 PM EST, with Team Black in the offensive. After a close confrontation, the Black Team won against the Reds, displaying better coverage and faster tactics, as sizes were 11-9 in favor of Black.

More invasions were scheduled to take place. The second, the invasion of Migrator, at 4:15 PM EST, was an attempt by the Black Team to recover their server, taken by the Red Team on day 4. However, the Black Team suddenly logged off mid-battle, claiming to be ‘lagging’. Therefore, the Red Team won this invasion by default. Another Black Team forfeit happened in the invasion of Northern Lights, at 5:15 PM EST, with the Red Team swiftly conquering yet another server from Team Black.

After an exciting and bustling day, the four teams gear up for the final days of Operation: Winter Storm. Only time will tell if Black Team will be able to recover from their losses, and who is going to be the champion of this community event! Who do you think will win Operation: Winter Storm?
