Over the past week, the CPA administration announced the release of Operation Winter Break, featuring one of the most fun events in the community in a while. Today, we will recap the first 3 days of this operation and the battles that have occurred.

Operation: Winterstorm serves as a beta tournament for an upcoming community map scheduled to fully release next week. Players were divided into four color-coded teams: Black, Blue, Green, and Red, all competing to dominate the map by controlling the most land before Sunday. Alongside the competition, the event introduces a brand-new economy system, bringing in assets like ships, planes, bombs, and even nukes, with intel and storage planned for the full map launch. Since the tournament began, Freeland invasions have been constant, and multiple battles have already taken place, with the intensity steadily escalating day by day.
Apart from the teams’ channels in the Discord server and the invasion and announcement ones, there is a press release channel that allows teams to share their propaganda.
Day 1: JANUARY 24, SCHEDULING BEGINS
January 24th marked the beginning of the battle scheduling phase, and things immediately started to heat up. Blue Team was the first to make a move, scheduling a freeland invasion for Ascent and Cabin to take place the following day. Around the same time, Black Team scheduled a major battle against Red Team over Summit, while also planning a freeland invasion for Fiesta and Parka.
Red Team responded by scheduling their own battle against Black Team for control of Rainbow, along with a freeland invasion targeting Sparkle.
Meanwhile, Green Team stayed completely quiet during this phase, choosing not to schedule any freelands or battles at all initially. The contrast in activity made it clear which teams were eager to push early and which were holding back. They initially scheduled a freeland invasion on Vanilla.
Day 2: JANUARY 25, first INVASIONS TAKE PLACE
The results on the next day unfolded as follows. Blue Team, which had scheduled freeland invasions for Ascent and Cabin, with Ascent being the first invasion of the tourney, successfully invaded and secured both servers. The Green Team also faced no issues and managed to annex Vanilla.
The Black Team faced more difficulties during their scheduled actions. In the battle over Summit, as well as the freeland invasions of Fiesta and Parka, they were only able to secure Parka. For that, they had to use a ship as they lost connection to the server after being defeated in the battle of Rainbow. For the same reason, the invasion of Summit was invalidated. All their other scheduled invasions were unsuccessful due to the team not reaching the minimum requirement of five penguins online.

Red Team, however, had no such issues and managed to successfully complete all of their scheduled battles and freeland invasions, gaining Rainbow and Sparkle.

Scheduling the next invasions
On the same day, Green scheduled a freeland invasion on Tea and Frozen, aiming to expand their nation. The Reds followed, scheduling another invasion on the Blacks, this time against the Migrator and one against Parka, which is the freeland Black had taken the day before. The Blues scheduled a freeland invasion on Deep Freeze and an attack on the Black Team-owned server, Tuxedo. The Black Team scheduled an invasion of the Red-owned North Pole. At the same time, turmoil erupted within the Black Team, after the back to back losses, following several leadership changes and destabilisation.

Day 3: January 26, PAYBACK
RESULTS of the previously scheduled invasions
The Green Team was able to successfully invade the Tea server during the AUSIA times. The team also got control of Frozen on the same day, expanding their empire. The Blue Team managed to easily invade Deep Freeze. Team Black cancelled their freeland invasion.

Regarding the battles, in the Black versus Blue battle for the control of Tuxedo, Blue managed to win, and earn the server, dominating their enemies, having more than double size and better forms and activity throughout the battle. They managed to max up to 16, while the Black Team was struggling to max 6. Black Team had to face two more battles, both against Red. In the first one, Red won both rooms and acquired the Migrator. They were better throughout the entirety of it. The sizes were close, with Red having around 10 and Black having around 8. In the next battle, just forty minutes later, Red won again, but this time with the Black Team tying one of the rooms. The battle, which was initially leaning towards Red, became a close one after Black improved in the second room, but this was not enough to make them win.

On the same day, the Black Team chose to make a powerful move. They nuked the land they attempted to claim the day before, Summit. Despite the nuke, there were no items stored in the server, so the damage was not as big as it could have been. The Red team will just earn 400 coins less in a span of four days.
Even though they appeared more mighty after the nuking, the internal problems remained. The leadership changed several times, with retirements and coups taking place. Eventually, the Black Team is led by Clade, Subzero, and Star. More on that can be found in this article.

Scheduled Invasions For the Next Day
After all the events between the two, and an alliance that never became true, the hatred between the Red and Black grew even stronger. At the same time, there was a new rivalry brewing between Blue and Green.
The Green Team scheduled first, a freeland invasion on Down Under. Shortly after, Blue made the first move against Green, scheduling on the newly acquired Green-owned Tea. As a response to that, Team Green scheduled two invasions against Blue and a freeland. The first against Iceberg and the latter against Deu Branco and on the freeland Slushy. Eventually, Blue also announced an invasion against the Green-owned Fog and the freeland Yukon. Red also made a hostile move, attacking Black again, this time aiming the Half Pipe. The Black Team, on the other hand, scheduled no new invasions.
