On January 17, we saw Penguins of Agartha announce a hiatus, with no events held for an undefined time period. We look back at the army’s past to understand its future.

Berlim founded the Penguins of Agartha in April 2025 after a month of preparation. His preparation was essential in enabling POA to establish itself as a constant presence in the Small/Medium community. They participated in two early wars when they declared against the Crimson Sovereign and when Void Troops declared on them. While they won the first conflict due to the CS shutting down, they lost the second war handily. Fortunately, they moved past the struggles, inducting Stv, Doopus, and Mr Potato as leaders throughout the summer. Additionally, they participated in the Summer Blitz, performing decently in the S/M army-only tournament. In September, Berlim unfortunately stepped down, wanting to take a break after declining activity.
Despite the loss of the creator, the remaining leaders pushed the army forward as much as possible until it became possible for Berlim to return. The return would occur in December, when Berlim came back due to nostalgia. However, Stv and Doopus both retired on December 25, 2025. However, with Berlim’s return, POA declared another war against the Crimson Sovereign in January. This war resulted in a treaty before any battle between POA and CSCP occurred. The army continued hosting events for a little while longer, but unfortunately, the decline in activity was visible. On January 17, 2026, Berlim announced the hiatus.

There doesn’t appear to be much of a reason for the hiatus aside from a lack of activity during events. As a result, the army is likely to arise when it can recruit more or when past members return. Will the hiatus help the Penguins of Agartha return as strong as they started? Does this signify a major turning point in their CPA story?
