Operation Phoenix: xDemon and AB Join SWAT Leadership

SWAT recently introduced many new faces into its community, including two leaders. Today, we learn about the history of the new leaders and understand their plans.

Special Weapons and Tactics was founded by Ganger90 in 2009 and is one of the oldest surviving armies in the army community. Over the last year, the army has been struggling with numerous leadership changes, controversies, and wars. For instance, the army lately faced the Romans, and also clashed with the Thunder Troops, starkly losing in each. Moreover, the army also faced an exodus last December, followed by defacement in February.

For much of 2025, the army had been led by WilliamW2010 alone. This December, the army is in hopes of maintaining a positive status within the army community, with two new leaders, xDemon and AB, added to the helm. In addition, the new leadership also brings an entirely new staff team with members who have experience in the army community. The army has classed these major changes as Operation: Phoenix. This name was also used in December last year, when SWAT attempted to grow again under fresh leadership after the exodus.

SWAT announced its reforms and leadership changes

xDemon’s History

xDemon joined the army community in February 2022 when he joined the Templars and rose to High Command before leaving the army in 2024. Later, he created a new Templars colony, called the Nether Knights of Club Penguin, in September 2024. This army was soon rebranded into the Phantom Republic of Club Penguin, a few weeks after its creation.

Eventually, xDemon joined the Void Troops in May 2025 and took a short break after. Then, he returned in November to lead the Void Troops. This month, he joins SWAT, taking on the leadership role alongside AB in SWAT’s recurring Operation: Phoenix project.

AB’s History

AB, relatively newer, joined the army community in June 2025, with his first army being the Templars, where AB reached the Staff-in-Training soon after. Later, he briefly joined the Help Force, and found himself in the Thunder Troops‘ leadership shortly before it merged into the Phantom Republic. Finally, he joined the Void Troops before moving into SWAT.

Club Penguin Armies sat down with both, xDemon and AB, to explore what their new roles entail and what their future goals are for the army following Operation: Phoenix.

As you both have had experience with leading with each other before in newer armies, do you expect anything to be different this time with a much older army?

xDemon: we led prcp together, but that was moreso just us playing around. As for swat we’re taking it a lot more seriously

AB: With this army being an older but really smaller army, compared to the newer and bigger ones me and Xdemon have. We expect that we might have a little bit more people on our side in SWAT as it has history on it, and back to comparing it to the other armies, they never had history so no vets or anything. Combining the recruiting skills I had, SWAT will get even more people in making it a major army soon enough.

What exactly is Operation: Phoenix in your own words? And, what will it mean for the future of SWAT and its staff?

xDemon: mass recruitment, new staff and hcom, complete revitalization of the army to abolish the deep state it had been in for the past year

AB: Operation: Phoenix is a code for SWAT to be coming back into top ten asap, as a phoenix represents rebirth, it was recognized as a code name to give SWAT the rebirth they need, rising from ashes SWAT will return. Silencing those who spoke too soon. Troops and staff will be working harder than before, as SWAT needs these people to attend.

What changes do you plan on bringing into SWAT?

xDemon: Mostly setting it up for the future, so its a respectable army going into 2026, bring it back to being one of the best s/ms

AB: The changes that we plan to bring to SWAT are the following: lack of work, more max for sizes and making it to top ten. We are going to put in a lot more effort to make these changes happen, as SWAT can NOT slack off anymore if they wanna grow back. Now the maxes per event will change to 10 on average, soon enough it will be way more than that. Lastly, SWAT will start to constantly show up on the top ten leaderboard, aiming for top 5, BUT it will take a while and patience is needed.

Last question, do you have any last comments or statements to say to the community?

XDemon: Hate us or love us, we are on the rise

AB: SWAT TO ITS PRIME AGAINNNNNNNNN #SWAT2026 (join SWAT!)

With SWAT being one of the most notable armies in the community, it is respectable to see two new faces emerge in the leadership ranks with goals of helping improve the army. They follow the footsteps of other leaders before them who have had similar skills and goals for their struggling armies. Do you think these two new leaders can help improve the army with their project? Or, would their plan tremble once again?
