As they geared up for the Christmas Chaos XV Quarter Finals, the Aliens and Rebel Penguin Federation faced off in a focused preparation battle. The scrimmage provided both allies an opportunity to refine their performance and sharpen their skills. Thus, they approached the matchup with full intensity, challenging each other and delivering their best throughout all three rooms.

The opening room revealed a clear momentum shift as both sides settled in. RPF’s early formations, first a UV, then an A, displayed solid structure but showed noticeable gaps on the flanks, which Aliens exploited with an anchor formation that took judges a moment to identify but ultimately held strong coverage. As exchanges continued, RPF’s X was clean, while Aliens’ response relied on bombs and an arrow formation that varied in effectiveness; their bottom-right and later BWB were weakened by bunching and invisibility issues. Midway through, however, Aliens tightened their execution, particularly with well-timed flickers and a strong waterfall. RPF’s later attempts at complex shapes, such as a messy V with an underline, lacked consistency. With RPF stronger early on and Aliens taking control in the latter half, the room balanced out to a tie.

The second room showcased a well-executed formation play from both armies and little separation in dominance. RPF opened with a triangle while Aliens countered with a UV, yet both suffered from bunching that limited coverage advantages. The mid-room rotation, RPF moving through rake, making a T, and eventually a circle, while Aliens did a clockwise blender and later a Z—showed good technical choices, but neither side managed to break the stalemate. Aliens’ brief idle moment and bunching in their BWB allowed RPF short windows of initiative, but Aliens recovered quickly with timely flickers and a strong V with a horizontal, countering RPF’s trident. Since both armies executed well tactically without producing a defining edge, the result was another tie.

The final room displayed the most decisive performance of the battle. While both armies entered simultaneously, their early formations already hinted at a momentum shift: Aliens’ U with vertical prompted broader coverage, whereas RPF’s plus was tight and overly bunched. RPF initially regained control with a well-executed waterfall that Aliens struggled to counter, but the momentum soon reversed. Aliens’ waterfall and subsequent V with underline were more cohesive, while RPF began slowing and making weaker formation choices, including an ineffective arrow. As Aliens expanded into a UV with an underline, their advantage became visibly influential, boosting coverage and confidence. With stronger pacing, cleaner formations, and superior presence, Aliens clearly took Room 3.

After an intense battle, both armies performed admirably. Congratulations to the Aliens on their victory! Both armies surely gave a performance to remember. Do you believe we’ll witness RPF and Aliens fighting in Christmas Chaos XV?
