Shadow Legionaries Announcement

On November 16, the Shadow Legionaries released an announcement terminating their alliance with the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin. They claimed that the reason behind this was the EGCP leadership’s actions against their own staff members. Before SL’s announcement, the general army community was not aware that something like this was going on in EGCP.

In it, Thunder222, SL’s leader, goes on to further analyse what happened. He states that the leadership abused power and stole credit, advisors were unprofessional and immature and there were lies, manipulation and victim blaming, while the army had become more authoritarian. In the same announcement, it is stated that SL also left the Army Retribution Alliance, staying allies only with the Fire Vikings.

The announcement was followed by another one, after EGCP released a post on the matter, which will be analysed later. In the second announcement, SL declared EGCP as an enemy army, welcoming any former Guardians who want to join the army.

A new army made

Some of the staff who were disappointed with the EGCP leadership’s actions eventually left the army. Some of them decided to start over, creating their own army. The army was named the Arcane Legion of Club Penguin and was led by 2 former EGCP troops, Kaka and Magma. The army officially opened on November 17, maxing 3 in the opening event. It did not last long, though, as not even two days later it shut down for unknown reasons. With the shutdown, the server was completely deleted.

Elite Guardians Leadership Response

First Post

On November 17, in order to address the accusations, EGCP’s leadership released a post. The post begins by referring to what the staff accused the leadership of, which was mentioned in the SL section here.

According to the post, all leadership decisions were discussed among all leaders. They only took action when everyone shared their opinions. After that, they shared screenshots that show they credited the person when one of their ideas reached the leadership chat. Regarding the advisors’ actions, they claim that the accusation is based on an incident that involved a misunderstanding. The advisor involved apologised for it, with the person affected accepting the apology.

Regarding the authoritarian complaints, they state that the leadership group chats are common among armies, in order to discuss stuff that should concern only the leaders. Also, they add that they involve their High Command in discussions about situations regarding lower ranked members.

Last of all, they end the post attacking the two staff who acted against the army, messaging members and allies trying to persuade them. They believe that their actions were dishonorable to it. They also call their actions hypocritical, while foreshadowing the release of a follow up post about them.

Second Post

As it was expected, EGCP released the second post 2 days later, on November 19. It is written by the EGCP consuls Cookky2 and SavageCobra, sharing the army’s official position on the matter. They begin the post by saying that they were under the impression that the issues had been resolved and claim that the situation is based on misunderstandings. According to the post, had the revolters wanted to clear out the situation while being honest, the situation would have been avoided. Then, they continue by analysing each accusation, following a similar format to the first post but with more information this time.

They also reveal that they were planning to promote the 2 staff members, who felt that their efforts were not recognised and credited. They claim that one of the 2 was aware of that as well. This, further promotes the idea that the main perpetrators had ill intentions. Then, the consuls reveal one of the issues of the past that was thought to be solved.

They point out that the revolters attempted to manipulate members of the army, which is ironic given that they accused the leadership of the same thing. The post goes on to counter accusations regarding the leaders being disrespectful, by providing screenshots. In their last point, they bring out the wrongdoings of one of the 2 revolters. Additionally, they provide screenshots to show their notoriety in CPA.

The Post’s Conclusion

The posts ends with the authors asking the reader to make their own conclusions based on everything presented. They ask for the truth to prevail and for the 2 staff members to stop. They state that they are disappointed in them, due to the way they reacted and ask them to self reflect. Lastly, they highlight their full support for the current army leadership.

A recent EGCP event

Club Penguin Armies reached out to EGCP leader Lana in order to get more info about the situation.

Does EGCP plan on taking any further actions, apart from the 2 posts, in order to deal with the accusations?

Yes! We are being completely transparent about all the facts and talking to some people that unfortunately leave EGCP with the two staff members. The consulate has also been working with us to help improve our team :))

Do you think that these events will impact the recent EGCP growth?

Yes, but fortunately, the staff team is quite united and we are very optimistic about the future.

Do you have anything else to add?

no:))) ty jojo

It seems like there has been much drama surrounding EGCP lately, but it is definitely used to that. Who do you think is right in this situation? How much will EGCP be affected by the allegations and the staff exodus?
