As a relatively new army, much of the Mexican Irish Republican Army’s history was still waiting to be written. Despite that being the notion, the army has shut down out of nowhere. Here is a deeper dive into the unexpected situation at MIRA.

The Mexican Irish Republican Army saw its entrance into the community on October 28. With a successful opening event that maxed 6 troops, MIRA was officially ready to begin its journey within CPA. Founded by Kiltanon and Ellie, this leadership at MIRA had much experience under their belt. In Kiltanon’s case, he has direct higher command experience from various armies. Originally joining CPA through the Doritos of Club Penguin server in 2020, he has since gone on to hold those H-COM positions in armies like People’s Imperial Confederation, Templars, and Magma Clan.
In contrast, Ellie is much newer to the army community, initially joining in late March. Her first army was the Rebel Penguin Federation, where, after a controversial scandal, saw her eventually moving to PIC. Although new, her talents must have been obvious, as she had quickly risen to 4ic in the army. This collective skill that the two shared shaped MIRA to look very promising.

MIRA’s opening event
Ellie’s tenureship would not last long, though. After a short time had passed in the army, a leadership change had taken place. With Ellie being relieved of her leadership role, Lydia was MIRA’s next prospect. Directly appointed by Kiltanon, Lydia would bring a great amount of talent and skill to the table. As a leader of the Underground Mafias Army and a Leader-in-Training of the Templars, Lydia and Kiltanon would have seemed like a devastating duo. However, after an event was randomly cancelled on November 6, the army was subsequently shut down by Kiltanon. There is no explanation provided within the messages, and it is unclear if Lydia had any say.

Kiltanon’s shut-down message
Wanting to learn more about the sudden exit, Club Penguin Armies reached out to the army’s founder, Kiltanon, for answers.
Is there any reason for the shutdown? Did you expect MIRA’s lifespan to be short?
Shutdown happened because it’s a meme army and I couldn’t be bothered trying to get people to max more than 5. Still placed higher than SWAT. I expected MIRA’s lifespan to be under 24 hours, so the shutdown didn’t surprise me.
From MIRAs’ opening to its closure, is there anything you wish you had done differently?
Well, I haven’t done anything from MIRA’s opening to its closure, and I therefore wouldn’t have changed anything. Maybe couping Ellie earlier.
Any possibility of MIRA reopening in the future?
I don’t really know or care, if I were to revive an army it would be for shits and gigs and I’d probably just make another new one.
Do you have any words/advice for people looking to create their own army?
My advice is don’t. Apply for CPA YouTube.
With much unrealised potential, the Mexican Irish Republican Army now sadly closes its doors. It is always exciting to see seasoned troops start their own army, as experience is one of the most important success factors. It is not the only factor, though, and sometimes things just don’t work out. Where MIRA and its leaders will go from here is questionable, but it is certain they will elevate the operations of the next army they find themselves in. Where do you think Kiltanon and the others make their next move? Do you think MIRA will ever reopen?
