After returning to the community a few weeks ago, the Phantom Republic suddenly shuts down for a second time. Let us explore this major development in the small-medium army community.

On November 7, the Phantom Republic, led by xdemon, photo, and AB, swiftly closed its doors without providing any explanation to the public. This breaking change comes soon after the army celebrated its first anniversary last month. Moreover, just four hours before the shutdown, the army’s monarch bucko resigned, stating that he could not find time for the army. However, unlike some army shutdowns, this one did not see any closing event.

In the announcement, xdemon suggests a possible return of the Phantom Republic later. Furthermore, the army’s Council also announced two inductions to the Hall of Fame. Notably, AB was titled Legend and Sovereign, while bucko was feciliated with Honorable Phantom and Sovereign. Additionally, the announcement included a few attachments that highlight some of the army’s major achievements from its second generation. Shortly, the army also endorsed the troops to join either the Void Troops or the Templars.
Achievements
On October 25, 2024, The Nether Knights was rebranded into the Phantom Republic under a similar leadership. As soon as they opened, they declared war on the Rebel Alliance Commando, fearing they might strike first. Following the end of this war—the War of Spectral Siege—their first generation concluded, and the army merged into the Special Weapons and Tactics.
On October 15, 2025, the Phantom Republic emerged once again after a year of closure. This second generation kicked off with their participation in the October Horrors tournament. Around this time, they consistently acquired sizes between 10 and 25. More recently, they also celebrated their first anniversary with a ceremonial event during which they acquired a size of 25, the highest ever reported. Lastly, on November 3, the army had its last event of the generation, where they sized 14.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to PRCP leader xdemon to learn more about the shutdown and understand why this decision was undertaken, but he has yet to answer.
In summary, it appears that the Phantom Republic is likely not coming back for a while. However, it appears that xdemon has high hopes that his army may return in the future in the army community.
