For eight years, the Elite Guardians have stood as a bastion of excellence within the community. Their legacy of strength and influence has left an indelible mark. As they celebrate this monumental eighth anniversary, we reflect on their storied past and promising future.
Background
The Elite Guardians of Club Penguin were founded in October 2017 by Small/Medium Legend Cookky2 and Army Legend Edu14463. They quickly became a dominant community force from 2017 to 2020. Their legacy was forged in major conflicts against rivals like the Templars and the Underground Mafias Army. They achieved remarkable feats, including maxing 80+ troops in World War VII and reaching the finals of the 2018 Christmas Chaos tournament.
Following their initial shutdown in 2020, the Guardians staged a triumphant revival in 2023. They immediately reclaimed their status as a prominent army. During this time, they engaged in notable clashes against forces like the Army of Club Penguin. However, this period of activity was cut short. Unforeseen circumstances led to another sudden closure. Yet the spirit of the Guardians remained unbreakable. In January 2025, the army reopened once more, now led by a new generation of leaders.
The Elite Return
The army’s spirit proved unbreakable. In January 2025, EGCP reopened with a new generation of leaders. This new era was led by Lass, Lady Eden, and Inesgnami. They swiftly reestablished the army as a dominant S/M community force. Lady Eden later retired. Lass and Inesgnami continued, steering the army with strength. They actively participated in tournaments, solidifying this revitalised generation’s legacy.
On April 27, the Guardians announced a hiatus. It ended on June 14 with an official reopening event, serving as the formal beginning of this new chapter. This event formally began the army’s new chapter. Following it, Inesgnami passed the torch to new leaders Lana and Kazoo. This symbolised a fresh start and a commitment to future growth. This new beginning now converges with a major milestone: the Elite Guardians’ eighth anniversary.
Club Penguin Armies reached out to Lass to learn more about the EGCP anniversary event and get a closer look at their achievements.
Congratulations on your eighth anniversary! How did the army celebrate this milestone, and what did it mean to you personally to mark this occasion?
The way every army celebrates their anniversaries, a big event with all the remaining people we gathered. It means we are still standing proudly in the face of adversity.
Having experienced both a shutdown and a triumphant return, how does that history of resilience shape the way you approach leading the army and planning for its future today?
It really hardened my perception of notoriety. At the end of the day none of our recent controversies mattered to a serious point, being forgotten even by the whistleblowers. All of this just taught us to be more mindful of our actions, but still stay strong no matter what might be thrown at us. TL;DR, we learned to improve our temperance and work ethic.
Beyond the major battles, what are some of your favourite smaller, personal memories within the army that embody the spirit of EGCP for you?
Honestly, my favorite most personal memories are the bonds. EGCP has been a very personal army, our biggest motor was our impulsivity and heat, generated by our camaraderie. Our unity and unique culture are the force that drives us, without it we fade away, so I will say this as my dearest small recordation.
As you step into this new year, what is your final message to the community, your fellow soldiers, and perhaps the veterans who built the legacy you now carry forward?
Our past is a double edged sword, but it is all we got. Recording isn’t about being stuck in nostalgia or overthinking past mistakes, it is about knowing why you are here in the first place. All the trials we have faced, errors committed and milestones are a part of us. Let’s never forget our origins and shine again like we always did. Sorte Vivve!
This eighth anniversary solidifies the Elite Guardians’ resilient return and marks the dawn of a promising new era under fresh leadership. We at Club Penguin Armies congratulate EGCP on this milestone and extend our best wishes to its community. The foundation is clearly set for a new age of dominance, but what do you think lies ahead for the Guardians? Will this new generation lead them to even greater heights?
