The Bastille Vanguard Shuts Down

In an unfortunate turn of events, The Bastille Vanguard has officially closed its doors. Its legacy, marked by both triumph and rebellion, leaves behind a very storied past. Let us explore the history of the army and some of the reasons behind its shutdown.

Originally founded on November 2, The Bastille Vanguard had seen great momentum. As former members of the Elite Guardians of Club Penguin, VitorwinAucraia, and Seila first created TBV upon EGCP’s tough fallout. At first, though, things were not easy. Having been founded in the turmoil that followed EGCP’s closure, the community proved hectic to get under control for them. Before this, EGCP had shut down due to internal dissatisfactions and arguments that fractured the army’s core structure. In an attempt to start fresh, the Vanguard trio started The Bastille Vanguard. As a new safe space for any troops leaving EGCP, the founders of TBV had succeeded in providing a home for the old EGCP community. With 100 members joining within the first week, and an opening event max of 20, TBV had proved they were ready to start their journey within Club Penguin Armies.

Straight upon opening, The Bastille Vanguard climbed the league’s Top Ten leaderboard with stunning speed. After an initial placement at the tenth spot, the army was quick to bolster its performance for next week’s review. TBV’s growth showed immensely in events where they maxed 25 members and displayed clean formations. In the next week’s Top Ten, the Vanguards had jumped three places, settling in at the seventh position. The army showed its competitors that it demanded respect and was ready to challenge anyone who doubted it. TBV’s opening success did not end there, however, as the following week would still show more positive trends for the army.

Being a new army, the army had displayed a nice showing at Christmas Chaos XIV. They had made it to the quarterfinals before being knocked out by the Rebel Penguin Federation, having fought hard all the way until the end. Growing significantly well over the weeks, TBV had come to attract the attention of the Major armies around the community. Consequently, the Vanguards had war declarations against them from the Army of Club Penguin and the Doritos of Club Penguin. Despite these efforts to bring them down, TBV pushed forward and remained together as an army.

Not many Small/Medium armies can accomplish such feats in the way TBV has. TBV had tasted war, sat amongst the Top Ten, and reached admirable highs in notable tournaments. Where many armies fade quickly, the Vanguards proved they wanted to be more than a temporary force. Built on the remnants of EGCP, the Vanguards had every reason to prove they were more than just a rebound army. In the end, it’s safe to say they made their own mark on CPA history.

As Club Penguin Armies continues to evolve, the Vanguard’s history may serve as a stepping stone for any rising prospects. TBV showed that resilience is a key factor in an army’s success, and armies must be able to push past obstacles that are thrown at them. The league is very competitive, and TBV was one of the few armies that showed communities can still rebuild and thrive again. Even in such a grueling environment, commitment will always outlast raw strength.

Ultimately, the army community had grown keen towards TBV. The announcement of their closure on August 7 heavily surprised the community. In this announcement, delivered by Aucraia, it highlights some of the aspects behind TBV’s founding and shutdown. Not only does TBV close its doors, but Aucraia also leaves behind his remarkable legacy with it. He makes it clear that he will likely not come back to CPA and has nothing more to say, stating that he does not want any armies to attempt to bring him back. Being one of CPA’s most promising armies, it is sad to see such a figure exit the community.

The Bastille Vanguard officially shuts down with a great past left behind. From the humble rebuilds of the fallen EGCP army to rising above others at Christmas Chaos XIV, TBV can boast a lot compared to other armies. With a history rooted in adaptability and ambition, the story The Bastille Vanguard leaves behind will echo throughout CPA for a very long time. Do you think TBV will be revived any time soon? Do you have any last messages you’d like to say to TBV or its leaders? What do you think was TBV’s greatest accomplishment?
