Billy Bawb Removed From TCP Leadership

In an unexpected move, the Templars of Club Penguin have removed Billy Bawb from his leadership position. Let us examine the story behind Billy Bawb further and what caused these sudden changes at TCP.

The Templars of Club Penguin are a highly recognizable name within the community. Originally founded in April 2018 by Xing, the army has experienced massive growth since then. With a Discord server of 12k+ members and multiple tournament victories, the Templars have proven to be one of the most active and resilient forces in the modern army scene. Recently, however, the Templars appear to have found themselves in a slump.

After a disappointing knockout at the quarter-finals of Legends Cup XV, the Templars of Club Penguin were also forced into a war the next week. This war proved to be devastating for TCP in the end, losing the conflict with 15 losses and 1 win. TCP had also seen its historic capital of Jerusalem fall. All of this seemed to hurt the Templars, as the army had unfortunately dropped to Small/Medium status some time after. The Templars of Club Penguin are in urgent need of a rebuild, and it appears the army has already begun taking steps in that direction. Freeing up roster space, the army has officially relieved Billy Bawb of his leadership duties.

First joining the army in June 2024, Billy was quickly recognized for his hard work and recruiting talent early. In the same month, the Templars promoted Billy to staff. Shortly after, the Templars promoted him to Leader in Training the following month. Continuing to learn and show his dedication, Billy Bawb was then allowed to lead TCP in December. Since then, the Templars inducted Billy into the Chevaliers of Valor for his exemplary service. This is why the removal comes as a surprise, as Billy has achieved a notable rank within the army.

Eager to learn more about the insights behind this, Club Penguin Armies reached out to both Billy Bawb and Moon. There was no response from Moon.

UPDATE: On August 28, 2025, at 11:39 PM EST, Moon took the time to reply thoughtfully.

BILLY BAWB interview

Was the removal on good terms? Do you agree with TCP’s decision?

Billy Bawb: My removal was not on good terms, and I respectfully disagree with the decision made by Templars. The reason given was “lack of activity” and “not doing work,” but in my view, I have remained active and committed. The few events I did miss were due to spending time with family, and I don’t believe that should be interpreted as “ghosting” battles.

Do you feel as though you accomplished what you wanted within TCP as a leader?

Billy Bawb: I accomplished what I set out to do, maybe not everything, but you can’t expect to get it all done.

If you could go back, what would you have done differently?

Billy Bawb: If I could go back, I wouldn’t really change anything. I did what I had to do, and if I got pushed out over stuff that wasn’t true, then maybe that just wasn’t the right army for me.

MOON INTERVIEW

What was the reason for removing Billy Bawb? Did everything end on good terms?

Moon: The reason for Billy’s removal was simply because he had been inactive, doing the bare minimum as a Grand Prior, and overall lowering the standards necessary for a Templar Leader. No, it could’ve ended on good terms if he hadn’t started writing a narrative that was simply not the truth.

Was this a sudden move, or have you guys been planing to remove Billy Bawb from the Templars Leadership?

Moon: It was planned from when he started to take a dip in his activity. We had made it abundantly clear that he needed to step up his game or he’d be booted.

Finally, are there any plans to find a replacement for Billy Bawb?

Moon: Yes, leaders come and go. With all due respect, there’s someone out there who can do better than he did — including saying the truth, and nothing but the truth.

Following the series of tragedies, all eyes are on the Templars to see if they can rise from Small/Medium status again. Only time will tell if this leadership change will result in growth or more setbacks. Regardless of either outcome, the Templars of Club Penguin will always remain a potent force within the community and have long established that they are here to stay. What advice do you have for TCP going forward? Do you think the Templars will climb back to Major status any time soon? Is there anything you’d like to say to Billy? Who do you think will replace Billy Bawb as TCP leader?

Reminds me of my unfair demotion due to needing to focus on schoolwork. Idk the full story, but I also have a bad history in my final months with the Templars.
