Club Penguin Armies As F1 Teams

Club Penguin Armies can be extremely competitive at times, and armies will do almost anything to get ahead of their rivals. Similarly, this same ruthless competitiveness is found in Formula 1, which happens to be the most prestigious racing league worldwide. In this editorial, we try to match some of the armies in Club Penguin Armies to F1 teams.

FERRARI – REBEL PENGUIN FEDERATION

The most iconic team in F1. Ferrari has competed in every F1 season, making their legacy unmatched in the sport’s history. Ferrari is so iconic that the Formula 1 governing body pays Ferrari to continuously compete in F1. Not only do they hold the record for most constructors’ championships at 16, but they have also seated some of the greatest names in the sport.

Ferrari is undoubtedly the most successful team in F1 history and is very comparable to the Rebel Penguin Federation. Everybody knows RPF, and there’s a good chance they were your first army. They are one of the oldest armies to exist and have collected many trophies and medals throughout the years. Just like Ferrari, they are a name that will always matter.

WILLIAMS – SPECIAL WEAPONS AND TACTICS

An old, legendary team that has fallen from grace. Williams is a 9-time constructor champion, and their cars have won multiple drivers’ championships. However, the team began to fall apart after Ferrari and Michael Schumacher ended their dominance of the grid. Today, Williams is in rebuild mode with high hopes of getting back to their glory days.

Similarly, this team can be closely matched to the Special Weapons and TacticsAs a force that was once a titan amongst the armies, their downfall is a hard one to watch. From sizes of 100+ to an unfortunate 3-troop showing at Legends Cup XV, SWAT’s time at the top has ended. However, neither Williams nor SWAT plans on staying at the bottom for long and are each making their respective plans to get back to the top.

FORCE INDIA – DORITOS OF CLUB PENGUIN

Few things damage a brand more than controversy. Force India learned this the hard way, as they were ultimately forced to close their doors because of it. Initially, the team had shown great promise and continued to grow competitively over several seasons. Abruptly, though, the team’s operations were halted and placed into administration after Force India’s owner, Vijay Mallya, was accused of fraud and defaulting on loans by the Indian government. Vijay then fled to the UK to escape Indian authorities, claiming he wanted to be closer to his children. The UK extradition police eventually took him into custody, and Racing Point UK acquired Force India’s assets. The Force India name was phased out, and the team was rebranded to Racing Point F1 Team.

In a similar light, the Doritos of Club Penguin have recently faced the same tragedy as Force India. DCP had also shut down and withdrawn from CPA after facing controversies and a time full of internal conflicts. Both Force India and DCP unfortunately show that a team’s foundation must be strong, or consequences will be faced.

MCLAREN – WATER VIKINGS

McLaren is very similar to Williams in that they are an extremely historic team that was very dominant in the past, but has dropped off from their golden days. In McLaren’s case, they have managed to bounce back entirely in the modern era. After some ups and downs throughout the 2000s and 2010s, McLaren may now be back at the top. At the time of writing, McLaren is in first place in the Constructors’ title with 516 points. They sit very comfortably in first place, as the second-place team, Ferrari, only has 248 points. Along with this, McLaren quite literally has a rocket ship of a car this year, and their drivers are extracting all the power the car has to offer. Also holding comfortable leads at the first and second positions in the Driver’s championship, McLaren’s dominance seems untouchable this season.

Comparatively, the Water Vikings share a similar path to glory just like McLaren. The Water Vikings are a very notable figure in the community, being the first colonized army to break free and grow bigger than their host army. Following those glory days, the army has been through various ups and downs throughout time. Now, the army holds the number one spot in the Top Ten rankings and prepares to win this year’s Legends Cup. They’ve won the most rooms in the tournament so far with a total of five, and have not lost a room. Additionally, the Water Vikings have shown the highest max size of all armies in the tournament with 68 troops at their quarter-finals battle. This year is shaping up to be very successful for McLaren and the Water Vikings, showing that legacy and perseverance can pave the way back to dominance.

RED BULL – ALIENS

Although relatively new to the scene, Red Bull had wasted no time getting to the top. Since their first season in 2015, the team has claimed many drivers and constructors’ championships over the years. The past few seasons have mostly been in Red Bull’s control, as their main driver Max Verstappen, secured multiple championships for the team. Max and the Red Bulls seem to have their hands tied now though, as the McLarens are proving to be a little too fast for them.

Likewise, the Aliens of Club Penguin share some direct parallels to Red Bull. Known for their rapid and explosive rise after reopening last year, the army has already scored tournament success. With a first-place finish at Around the World Cup II, the Aliens have shown that their revival is serious. Despite this success, however, they too find themselves challenged by the competition. If the Aliens and Red Bull wish to continue their championship reigns, then both teams will need some massive victories going forward.

Club Penguin Armies and F1 are leagues that are both driven by raw competitiveness and passion. Ultimately, it is this same competitive spirit that creates unforgettable battles and legendary rivalries that are always fun to watch. In the end, the only thing you’ll find by comparing Club Penguin Armies to F1 teams is that competition runs deep, no matter the setting.
