June 24 marked the anniversary of the day that the Aliens had formally returned to the Club Penguin army community. The army celebrated the day by inviting both veterans and new troops to a special anniversary event. Now, one year later, the Aliens continuously stand strong, and are fighting tirelessly to uphold the heritage that had brought them back into the fold.
The Aliens Legacy
The Aliens were originally founded on September 8, 2018, by Sans. Under his leadership, the army established its presence in the community until April 2019. An initial revival attempt in May 2019 fell short. However, BestPenguin, alongside Shy, Hezzers, Aotearoa, and others, successfully brought the army back in June. Their effort helped the Aliens reach the Top Three in army rankings within weeks.
Following their return, the Aliens formed strategic alliances, including one with the National Armies Alliance, featuring other armies like the Help Force and Royals. As their influence grew, names such as Tena and Choco55172 joined the ranks—Tena eventually became a moderator in August 2019 and later a leader in September. Despite challenges that arose later that year, including a noticeable decline in activity, the leadership team held firm and united.

In March 2020, Choco55172 was promoted to leader, continuing the push to maintain the Aliens’ identity as a close-knit, resilient community. However, on May 16, 2020, the army officially shut down and rebranded into a general gaming server, marking a temporary departure from the army scene.
THE REVIVAL
After several years of dormancy, the Aliens officially returned to the army community on June 24, 2024. The revival was led by BestPenguin, who had been instrumental in the army’s earlier successes, alongside Tena, a former leader and long-standing figure in the army’s legacy. The return was marked by a rebranding of their identity, while still honoring the legacy built in 2018 and 2019.
In the weeks following their revival, the Aliens resumed operations with regular events, recruitment efforts, and a clear focus on rebuilding their troop base. The army established its presence on Club Penguin Armies Battleground and began making appearances in the weekly Top Ten rankings. While the Aliens focused on consistency and growth during the early months, they steadily developed into a mid-sized contender within the community. Under Bestpenguin’s leadership, the Aliens won Around The World Cup II against the Army of Club Penguin, illustrating that their army won’t back down easily and is prepared for what comes next.

The anniversary honored the army’s past and showed how their presence still resonates across the community.

Club Penguin Armies reached out to Aliens leader Bestpenguin for an exclusive interview on their anniversary and to learn more about it.
What’s been your proudest moment this past year?
Over the past year, I have had so many proud moments, but this has to be my fav one. Recently Aliens won Around The World Cup 2 tournament, that has to my proudest moment. I never thought a year ago that Aliens would win a major category tournament, it was hard to win but we did it together as a family. I still remember that all of us were shaking when the results were announced and all of us screamed when we saw Aliens wining.
Did you expect Aliens to last this long after revival?
I’ll be honest, I did not expect Aliens to last this long, especially when we had almost no help from anyone who’s experienced with CPA. Last year, when I came back with Aliens, it was only for 60 days and was purely for nostalgia. I missed leading and hosting events a lot. During those 60 days, my goals were to obtain major status, get in the top 3, and ally with Help Force, as they were our friends since 2018. Fortunately, I was able to complete my goal in less than 60 days. I had no idea if we would even make it to 2025. It’s funny, I thought I had changed for good. Before bringing back Aliens, I was determined not to get emotionally attached, but as fate would expect, I got emotionally attached to every troop, every staff member, and everyone in Aliens. I cannot express how grateful I am to CPJ for giving Aliens a life, for helping me meet so many lovely people. To be bluntly honest, if CPJ was not alive during our initial times, I probably would have stuck with my original plan of 60 days, because bringing an army back with almost no help is not easy, and hosting events in CPAB wouldn’t be helpful for recruiting, especially when my skills are in CPPS recruiting. I couldn’t be happier with how far we’ve come and how everything turned out.
In what ways have the Aliens evolved since the revival?
Aliens have changed a lot since our revival. Initially, we struggled to max 10 in CPAB, but as time went on, we became extremely popular in CPJ, which helped us grow a lot and helped to strength our maxes in CPAB as well. I also met so many amazing people who helped us survive and reach where we are now. Nobody expected us to do this well. During the early days, people called us a rogue army, but through our hard work and strategies, we proved them wrong. We showed the army community the strength of hosting events in CPJ and using the platform efficiently. Last year, when we came back to CPA, we were ranked #7 in the Top 10. A year later, around the same time, we achieved #1 in the Top 10. Every CPA tournament made us stronger than before. As a leader, I improved my leading skills. It was a major shift for me because I came back after 4 years and in those 4 years, battles had evolved a lot. There was so much to catch up on, but with time, I was able to. We started with few known people but now, Aliens have so many loyal troops. the most lovely staffs and most importantly a loving community.
What’s next for the Aliens in their second year?
Currently, we are aiming to do our best in Legends Cup. We’re hoping to win a major tournament so that we can have everyone’s beloved alien emote in CPAB too. After Legends Cup, we will continue to work hard and strengthen our community. As we continue forward, we’ll stay true to the values that built this army a family because in Aliens, Together, we care. We share. We rise. We smile.❤️
Since they first came together in 2018 until their most recent victory in 2024, the Aliens have never failed to demonstrate their ability to survive, adapt, and begin again. Their revival anniversary after a year of having returned is not just a reflection of how much they have grown, but also the milestone towards what is to follow. Will the Aliens continue their upward path in the community as they enter year two?
