Every year, the community comes together to host events for Pride, an event that allows everyone to unite and feel a sense of belonging. In this post, we will find out what the armies plan to do to celebrate Pride.
June has finally arrived, and we are already nearing the halfway point of the month. In the blink of an eye, everything changes, and that is certainly true for this specific event. Pride events have been held in the community for several years, embracing the changes that occur in the real world every day. For many within the community, Pride allows people to unite and truly feel like they belong. Whilst armies are all about wars and fighting, this time of year allows everyone to embrace who they are, regardless of their identity, sex, army, etc.
Pride within the army community was something that was spearheaded by Max, one of the founders of Club Penguin Armies. His impact within the community alone is unforgettable. Yet, his initiative to spearhead what is an important event has not only inspired the community, but it became a tradition that we uphold every year. Although the events held can be seen throughout the community, they are not the only thing that happens. Armies from across the community shine a light on the LGBTQ+ members within their army, allowing them to share their stories. Additionally, they provide a safe space for those inside and outside that community to open up and find themselves.
Within armies, it is easy to become lost, to feel like you do not belong or to become stressed. Whilst Pride celebrates those in the LGBTQ+ community, it allows everyone to celebrate their differences and be free. Additionally, discussions of someone’s experience or journey can help others to open and truly discover their place in the world. People can become hopeful for a brighter future where everyone is free to be who they want to be and express their feelings freely.
Armies will make new banners, icons, logos, decorations and pieces of art yearly as a part of their celebrations for Pride. Yet, 2025 is a new year, and it provides armies with new opportunities. Thus, we must ask ourselves, what are armies doing for Pride this year? Are they doing anything different?
Club Penguin Armies approached several army Leaders to find out what they are doing for Pride in 2025.
What are you and your army doing to celebrate Pride this year?
BP, Aliens: To celebrate Pride this year we are going to have a pride march and we will have a pride awareness week. We have also planned pride weddings to have fun in our community:)
Berlim, Penguins of Agartha: Maybe host some events, related to that
Imvge, Scarlet Republic: We’re likely going to be doing some sort of parade event for it but we’re still kinda coming up with ideas rn (:
Ryebread, Water Vikings: We aren’t doing anything specifically this year. The individuals in the army are free to celebrate and talk about the event as they please.
Link3000, Rebel Penguin Federation: We have already hosted a pride flag event once June arrived which was very fun. Currently any themed celebration is paused due to our Olympics, but once those are over, we are likely to have more pride themed events, potentially a break day and our standard icon/banner changes.
We are openly an LGBTQ friendly army, since many of our staff remembers and troops are part of THE LGBTQ community, so this isn’t too far from our regular vibes, but it does give us the chance to be a bit more extra about it lolYellow Typer, Fire Vikings: We’re planning to host a huge pride month party this coming Friday
For the most part, it seems like armies are embracing Pride once again this year. Certainly, the amount of support that this event receives is immense, and it should never be forgotten. Each of these armies aims to celebrate Pride in their own way. However, we hope that you will all join us at CPA when we host our Pride event later this month. All will be revealed in due course. For now, stay tuned! Happy Pride, everyone!
