After months of leadership, Raven116 has retired from his position as Viking Commander. This marks the beginning of a new era for the Water Vikings. Let us look into this sudden departure and the reasons behind it.

Raven’s Legacy

Raven116 joined the community in late 2019 when he was recruited to the Doritos of Club Penguin. Despite his lack of interest at the time, he attended a number of events and achieved a low staff rank in what was then the “Doritos Gaming” server. In late 2021, a discussion surrounding Club Penguin Armies sparked his attention, leading him to join the Water Vikings. He quickly achieved staff there and ranked up to fourth-in-command.

In 2022, Raven was faced with a ban from WV and began to explore other armies, including the Magma ClanSpecial Weapons and Tactics, and the Templars. During the Eagre Foray War II, he was unbanned from WV and retired from SWAT to resume his career there. He remained with the Vikings until August of 2023, when he was banned once more. Raven retired from CPA following this and did not return until 2024 when he was found on Club Penguin Journey by Scars and JoelFreak. The two managed to reintroduce him to the community, in which he grew active once again.

Climbing the Ranks

As he began to reacquaint himself with the community, Raven started discussing a possible revival of Aliens of Club Penguin with Bestpenguin. Despite his initial reluctance, BP eventually agreed, and Raven became a staff member there. However, as real-life responsibilities piled up, he found himself stepping away from CPA once more. Raven made his return in November, rejoining as a third-in-command. Within two months, his dedication and effort earned him a promotion to leader.

In the following months, Raven led the army through several tournaments such as Christmas Chaos XIVthe Candy Crusher Brawl and March Madness X. Of the three, WV’s success came in the Candy Crusher Brawl, where they claimed a well-deserved victory.

Raven’s Departure

On Saturday, April 12, Raven officially announced his retirement from WV leadership. Citing real-life obligations, he explained he could no longer dedicate the time the army required and made the decision to step down.

Additionally, in the weeks leading up to Raven’s retirement, SavageCobra was promoted to WV leader, ensuring a smooth transition of power before stepping down.

Club Penguin Armies contacted Raven for an exclusive interview regarding his resignation.

What was the main reason behind your retirement?

I am going to be way to busy in the next few (or not so few) months so i would not have enough time to lead WV.

Were you able to accomplish all of your goals as a leader?

No, sadly I was not.

What was your favorite part about being leader of WV?

Being the lion that defeated SWAT (the small dog)

What kind of impact do you think your retirement will have on the army?

I believe in its current state the army has enough stability, so i hope there wont be any major impacts of me leaving

Do you see yourself ever returning to WV in future?

There is definietly a chance, but most likely only temporarily for tournaments. Im moving out in September so life definietly gonna be much more busy for me

Any final words for the community?

As the Vikings navigate this leadership transition, Raven seems confident in WV’s current foundation. His decision to step down does not stem from uncertainty, but rather from trust in the army’s resilience, the strength of its current leadership, and its ability to move forward successfully without him. What do you think of Raven’s retirement? How will this affect the Vikings’ performance in future?
