Every month, the Club Penguin Armies staff team hold a vote on what we consider to be the “Top Five Moments” of each month, and March did not disappoint. Though many armies were occupied with tournament preparation, there were still 16 moments to vote on this month, showing that the community never rests. Now, let us reveal the top five moments for March.
5. FreakOUT! JoelFreak Exits Doritos’ Leadership
Written by: Zenishira
On March 8, JoelFreak stepped down as leader of the Doritos of Club Penguin. Along his journey, he led multiple reputable armies such as the Club Penguin Marines, the Squids and the Secret Service, where he is revered as a legend for his service. He led the Secret Service to their first trophy victory, winning the Tropical Rumble tournament hosted by Club Penguin Army League, after getting a decisive 10-0 victory in a war against the Templars.
Under Joel, DCP participated in the Christmas Chaos XIV tournament, where they fought the Rebel Penguin Federation in the finals. Alas, their winning spree was cut short by the Rebels, despite their valiant efforts. Nonetheless, Joel will be remembered in history not only for reviving a prestigious and historical army, but also for bringing it to unforeseen heights, with support from 32op and Mustapha10, who have ceremoniously awarded him the title of DCP Legend for his contributions, and thus, he shall remain in the Hall of Fame as an inspiration for future DCP leaders.

3. Water Vikings Sail Back To Major Status
Written by: Kira
On March 2, the Water Vikings officially re-debuted back into Major status, a major milestone following their lockdown earlier this year. Since reopening, the army has been on a steady rise, dominating the Top Ten, showing strong consistency, and even securing the S/M trophy in the Candy Crusher Brawl. Earning back their Major status did not come easily. It was built on dedication, solid leadership, and relentless momentum. With Raven, Rye Bread, Cobra, and Claire at the helm, the Vikings have reestablished themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the community.

As 54x steps down, we are curious to see how these two adjust to their new positions.

1. March Madness X: Announcement and March Mayhem
Written by: Noa
The battles started soon after March Madness X was announced on February 25. The Qualifiers kicked off in early March, with most armies fighting for a spot in the next round. As time passed, the tension grew, leading to close and unexpected battles that made the tournament exciting to watch. After several weeks, the brackets began to tighten, bringing us to the Final Four: Doritos facing the Help Force, and the Army of Club Penguin against the Rebel Penguin Federation. In their match against the Clovers, the Rebels claimed victory, although the Clovers put up a strong fight. Community predictions had also favored the Rebels to win. While they secured the victory, ACP certainly did not go down without a fight.
The other matchup between the Doritos and the Help Force came as a surprise to the community. Known for their fierce competition, the Doritos were expected to put up a strong fight. Many in the community had predicted a Help Force win, as the Helpers are known for stepping up during tournaments and never playing around when it is time to hit the battlefield. With two strong competitors facing off, the Helpers ultimately came out as the victors. Although every army gave it their all, the stage was set for the Grand Finals. The community now looked ahead to the Third Place match—Doritos versus ACP—and the long-awaited Grand Finals, both scheduled to take place in April.
