On March 29, the Rebel Penguin Federation and the Water Vikings participated in a practice battle against one another.

In this post, we will take a closer look at how both armies performed and see who claimed victory in this practice battle. Prior to this battle, the Rebel Penguin Federation and the Water Vikings had recently clashed in the March Madness X quarter-final round. In that battle, the Rebels emerged victorious and advanced to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the Vikings have been training themselves up recently, engaging and winning 3-0-0 [W-T-L] in a practice battle against the Templars. Additionally, the Rebels recently defeated the Army of Club Penguin in the March Madness Semi-Final round and are set to face the Help Force in the Grand Finals on April 6.

FOREST – Water Vikings

The battle began with the Vikings entering the room first, followed closely by the Rebels, who swiftly entered a triangle formation. Meanwhile, the Vikings made a plus formation. During the early half of the room, both armies struggled with AFKs, with RPF having gaps in their formations. WV’s troops were working in unison, being fast and active tactically, while RPF’s troops, on the contrary, slightly lagged. So far in this room, the sizes were 23-17 in the Rebels’ favor, and sizes remained as such throughout. Midway through the battle, RPF moved first as they quickly formed an anchor, and WV moved into an A formation. WV had a neater formation once again as RPF struggled with gaps and AFKs in their vertical. RPF once again moved first, making an arrow while WV made an underlined V. WV struggled with gaps in their formations while RPF struggled with keeping up tactically during the last half of the room before they eventually improved towards the end.

Throughout the battle, WV dominated the room for the majority of the time, being more awake and more alert throughout the room despite RPF’s resurgence toward the end, leading to the forest being a Viking victory.

The Rebels entered first, forming a small arrow, while the Vikings set up in an upside-down T. At this point, sizes stood at 23-17 in favor of RPF. To improve their coverage, RPF expanded their arrow, though WV maintained control of the chatbar. Moving first, RPF transitioned into an X, while WV shifted into an upside-down Y. The Rebels displayed a much cleaner formation as sizes adjusted again to 25-18, still in their favor. During the latter half of the room, WV struggled with bunching and AFKs, which weakened their coverage against RPF’s formations.

Carrying their momentum from the end of Room 1, the Rebels dominated Room 2. Their superior size, sharper formations, and heightened activity gave them a clear advantage, ultimately securing another victory in the second room.

Stadium – Tie

Room 3 commenced with RPF entering first and making a Z while WV surrounded the room. WV’s formation struggled, presenting a few gaps within their formation. At this point, sizes were 25-19 in favor of the Rebels. WV moved first, whirlpooling around the room, followed by RPF moving, which highlighted their AFKs. RPF then surrounded the room as WV made a V. In the last half of the room, WV moved in a backward L while RPF made a V.

Throughout the battle, both armies had times when they dominated the room as both the Vikings and the Rebels picked up the pace, leading to Room 3 ending in a tie.

Docks – Rebel Penguin Federation

The overtime room saw WV enter first, forming an arrow while RPF made a U. This formation saw RPF be more dominant and awake, as WV seemingly lagged behind, paired with a gap-filled formation. As a result, WV’s formation was not entirely effective in defending against RPF’s U formation. WV then moved, making a V whilst RPF made a plus. WV’s formation was much neater, their troops were awake, and they effectively matched the Rebels’ pace. RPF moved first, making a peace sign whilst WV made a plus, but struggled with AFKs within the formation.

In the overtime room, the Rebels demonstrated their creativity, making unique formations that virtually showed off their size and dominance, regaining the speed they had in Room 2. In addition to this, due to the size advantage and being the more alert and speedy army, RPF achieved victory in the overtime room and thus won the practice battle against the Vikings.

Head Judge Spotty announcing results

In the lead-up to the March Madness Grand Finals occurring this upcoming weekend, it is great that other armies are taking the initiative in training their troops in various practice battles. Congrats to the Rebel Penguin Federation for emerging victorious in this close battle. What do you think about this practice battle? Which armies do you think will battle next?
