Vikings on Ice
On January 5, Aaronstone, a member of the Water Vikings’ High Council of Vikings, announced the armies’ temporary lockdown. This announcement came unexpectedly following the Vikings’ busy past few months, including their rise to major, their most recent war against the Special Weapons and Tactics, their subsequent drop to small/medium status, and their absence from the most recent Christmas Chaos XIV tournament. Additionally, the Vikings had celebrated the 14th anniversary, celebrating 14 years of prosperity within the army.
Rising Tides
On February 9, the Vikings officially made their return to the community, reopening with a practice battle with their Brother Allies, the Rebel Penguin Federation. Following their return, the Vikings have been consistently raising the tides, making waves within the community. Most recently, the Vikings won the S/M trophy in the one-day tournament, the Candy Crusher Brawl, demonstrating great success despite reopening so recently. In addition, the Vikings have been dominating the weekly top-ten debuting #4 in their first week. With these successes, it is no surprise that on March 2nd, the Water Vikings were officially reclassified from small/medium to major, right ahead of the upcoming March Madness X tournament. This marks a significant shift as the Vikings now join the major army roster, highlighting its growth.

Mare announced WV’s reclassification
Interested in learning more about the recent shift in classification, Club Penguin Armies reached out to WV leader Claire for more insight.
How do you feel about your shift to major so soon after ending lockdown?
It feels amazing! We worked really hard during the lockdown and after we came back for this moment, not only leadership but HCOV, staff member and HCOM. It’s a sense of accomplishment with myself as leader, but also with the army as a whole.
Did you expect WV to grow to major so fast?
I’m not gonna lie, I did expect for us to grow fast because, again, we worked a lot for this and we were ready for it to come, I feel like the major status and the short period we got it it’s well deserved.
Does WV have any major plans following its shift back to Major?
For sure, the Water Vikings never rest! We have huge expectations after getting the major status again and we are going to fulfill them, that’s for sure. That’s all I can tell for now, but watch out because the tide is rising.
The Vikings truly are doing remarkable things and are setting sail with great prospects in their eyes, with their shift back to major solidifying this. Ahead of the first major tournament of the year, the Vikings truly seem capable of raising the tide with success within their sights. Will the Vikings continue seeing this success going into March Madness? Will they be able to maintain their major status? Although we are currently unaware, we are certainly looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the Vikings.
