On January 31, the Mercenaries of Club Penguin announced their official return to the community. Today, we’ll dive into what sparked this sudden revival.

ARMY HISTORY
The Mercenaries was originally created by Midnight on December 28, 2023. The army officially opened on January 9, 2022, and Bull Hour was Co-Founder. The first generation was led by the two with Greeny alongside them. Krosive and Toxic Storm also led for a while before the shutdown. After the Mercenaries shut down, it would be re-opened on January 15, 2025.

MERCENARIES REVIVAL
After leaving the Dark Vikings, Midnight decided to revive his army to the surprise of the community. He officially announced the reopening on the 30 January marking the beginning of its third generation. Since then, he and his co-leaders have worked hard to restore the army to its former glory.
The leadership aims to rebuild its ranks, strengthen its operations, and make a lasting impact as it steps back into the army scene. Following two weeks of dedication behind the scenes, it all paid off at their revival event. With their new team, we are excited to see what this next generation of the Mercs offers.
After their successful revival event, Club Penguin Armies contacted Mercenaries Leaders Callisto25x and Midnight for an interview.
What led to the Mercenaries Revival?
Callisto25x: Idk tbh, I got an offer to merge Spartans so here I am
Midnight: I was asked to revive Mercs but i refused since I was in DV at the time, then people in DV were insulting mine and Tribal’s religion and we thought we shouldn’t be in an army with those people so we left to revive Mercenaries.
Do you have any future expectations for the army?
Callisto25x: I haven’t really thought about it yet, but now that you ask I suppose being a major army, winning tournaments, being Top 1, defeat everyone.
Midnight: I expect to reach #1 on top ten, and beat a bunch of armies
Did the revival event go as you hoped it would?
Callisto25x: Kind of, we were hoping of 20+ but we maxed 17. A great start but we need to work harder and be aware. We had 38+ reacts, most of them bailed on us.
Midnight: Well the event wasn’t bad, 17 isn’t bad but we were hoping for 20 or 25. Things seems to be going well for us rn tho
